To celebrate the 20th anniversary of their seminal 2005 album Staring Into Space, Glaswegian duo Silicone Soul present a Darkroom Dubs reissue featuring two pivotal remixes that helped define the album’s legacy.

Berlin’s Dirt Crew deliver a powerful rework of Inferno. Amplifying the original's deep dub foundations, they lay down an irresistible Italo-disco bassline while framing the timeless toast — 'What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul?’ The result is a remix that balances spiritual gravitas with dancefloor intensity, a reminder of Dirt Crew’s signature touch during their own breakthrough years.

These remixes have been lovingly remastered by Conor Dalton (Glowcast Audio) from the original DATs, giving DJs, collectors, and new listeners a fresh chance to experience two standout reinterpretations from the Silicone Soul archive. Twenty years on, they remain as vital as ever.

The Colombian producer Ravetop releases an EP of remixes that come from a raw analog track with down pitched and resonated voices that interact alongside a playful and unpredictable arp bass-line and solid percussion elements, resulting in a fresh and spooky new wave "minimal" disco flavor with bleep dry beats, ideal for warming up the dance floor.

The rhythm that borns of social isolation, the desire to break the rules with the existing alternatives, visions of the discotheque exploding after being shut down for a long time lapse, strident syntheses that converge with colored spotlights in the darkness and the uncertainty and relentless cyber future are mainly the sources of inspiration that came to Ravetop to give shape to this track.

Galope Messier brings a touch of Trance and "Proggry" vibes through the drops and bass line in his remix, followed by the powerful contribution of Fabrizio Mammarella, who turn the essence of the original track into a peak time arpegiated Italo Body Music bomb perfect for the most rave-heads club warriors.

The release is complemented by "Le Poison Du Plaisir," a track previously included on the "Rotten Citizens Vol. 6" compilation. A great chance to catch up for those who missed it!

Leading the charge is Ewan Pearson’s electrifying remix of The Poisoner’s Diary - a masterclass in sonic transformation. Pearson channels raw new wave urgency into the original, fusing its proto-dark disco leanings with climactic synth flourishes and machine-gun claps. The result marked a creative breakthrough for Pearson and added a defining edge to Silicone Soul’s catalogue, foreshadowing the darker aesthetic that would come to shape European dancefloors.

The vocal version adds another layer of intensity with the haunting delivery of Stuart Gray (from Glasgow indie band Viva Stereo). His stark post-punk refrains narrate a chilling gothic tale of emotional unravelling, an allegory for love’s collapse.

Aurum Miles and In-Link open the EP with a statement of intent. “Machine” is a relentless piece of rhythm architecture — precision-engineered 
percussion, dark industrial basslines, and hypnotic synth motion. The track builds like a mechanical organism finding consciousness: tension and 
repetition give way to subtle evolution, each loop gaining new layers of texture. 

Dark Disco producer Tevatea takes Two Lines into deeper waters. His remix is a cinematic re-imagination — smoother contours, expanded ambience, and 
hypnotic progression that feels like a descent into liquid motion. The rhythm breathes; textures evolve in slow bloom. 
Tevatea reinterprets the duality of the original as fusion rather than contrast — where two lines blend into one fluid energy stream. The result is 
immersive and emotional, a remix that bridges underground atmosphere and dance-floor fluidity with poise and elegance.

BIO:

Tending Tropic is an Amsterdam-based producer trio and live electronic act united by a shared love for duga duga basslines and dark, hypnotic synth leads. Their sound draws from 80s Italo disco, modern disco, and rave influences—coined by the three friends as "Post Disco Italo Rave": high-energy, dance-driven music built for late nights.

Their debut track “Hondebrok” on David Vunk's Moustache Records gained international support throughout 2024 and 2025, followed by the Terpentine EP (2025) on the same imprint, which expanded their deep driving sound. The trio released a second EP Distorted Reality (2025) this year on Melopee Records which pushes further into atmospheric, dark italo disco rave territory. With a number of releases and exciting collaborations  slated for 2026 and an ever-evolving live show, they are ready to share some duga duga on a dancefloor near you.

Tending Tropic Guest Mix for Mechanical Breakdown on KEXP

French born, Berlin based ELECTROSEXUAL was a key voice in shaping the French electroclash sound alongside peers like Miss Kittin, The Hacker, and Vitalic. He has also worked alongside artists such as Peaches, David Carretta, and Hanin Elias from Atari Teenage Riot over the last 20 years as a songwriter, composer, arranger, and musician. He has a famously raw analogue sound and has performed at the scene's most cult clubs. This new single lands soon after a remix for Captain Mustache on Mobilee Records and ahead of opening for KOMPROMAT (aka Vitalic and Rebekah Warrior)'s sold out show in Berlin this December.

The superb Like That captures ELECTROSEXUAL and vocalist Nicky Miller's shared vision of modern club culture. They wrote it spontaneously as a live performance, and it's political, emotional, and liberating as their chemistry merges sharp electronic production with Miller’s haunting vocal presence. Acid lines flash, serrated synths bring sharp angles, and slapping drums demand a physical response.

On remix duty is UK synth duo Hence, led by Daryl Bamonte, who worked extensively with Depeche Mode and The Cure, and who ELECTROSEXUAL has recently remixed. Their version is more stripped back, featuring a moody bassline and stark synth notes that bring a chilly futurism alongside steamy vocal sounds.

Next is Aquatic Love feat. Nicky Miller, another 303 soaked workout with steely drums and austere textures brought to life by steamy and intimate vocal whispers. It is bold and edgy for strobe lit floors.

Completing the release is Lèvres Roses Version de Nuit, a hypnotic and acid driven rework of the underground favourite that amps up the raw intensity and nocturnal allure.
