A Case of You (Joni Mitchell Cover)

Vocalists & multi-instrumentalists Katie Pearlman & Victoria Faiella were longtime mutual admirers of each other’s music. They found themselves playing several singer/songwriter gigs together where they each would perform their own songs. It wasn’t until they were both invited to sing at a Dave Diamond & Friends show celebrating the music of Bonnie Raitt & Jackson Browne that they finally had the opportunity to sing together. The beautiful blend of voices was immediate & striking. They continued working with the Dave Diamond Band and were offered an opening slot as a duo on a quickly approaching date. This provided the perfect opportunity to delve deeper into each other’s original music and debut a few select covers that would showcase the women’s mellifluous harmonies. Shortly after this first duo gig, Katie asked Victoria to lend background vocals in her highly revered band The Joni Project, a collective of ultra-seasoned musicians that perform & celebrate the brilliant music of Joni Mitchell. The concept to create a unique two-part vocal arrangement of Mitchell’s heartrending classic A Case Of You was born. They each describe singing together as a sisterhood deepened by a mutual love of music, performing, songwriting & of course, all things Joni Mitchell.
