Down To The Light - Kat Wilson

This collection of original WA music has been compiled by the music business students at Central Institute of Technology. The music is a sample from bands performing on the Wetlands Stage at 2013 WAM Festival Saturday Spectacular, Nov 9th. 

In a collaboration first between and WAM and Central, music business students were invited to exclusively program one of the festival stages and handle all of the bookings, contracts, payments, advertising, media and online promotion. The experience has given them a first hand opportunity to try out their new found skills and knowledge in a real music industry context while they develop their professional networks for the future employment prospects.

But it's not just about the music business program. Performing on the day are artists from the music performance course playing songs written and rehearsed as part of their workload. Mixing will be done by students from the advanced diploma of sound production and the college's own digital radio station Boom Radio will be doing an outside broadcast of the show.

If you want to find out anymore about the courses available on the day, students will be there speaking with people about the programs and the projects that they're working on.

It's going to be an awesome day, it's family friendly and it's free, so come on down.
