The buzzing oxidation mutes the ringing

A tired chord sounds wooden, little left
of brightness, hollowness, the sound has wilted.
I ignore it, mute, more dull than deaf;
my fingers coax shy movement from the still.

They’re dead, long dead; my singing died as well.
The rings of rust of frets are on my throat
where coughing kept me up until I fell
back into bed; my sleep can’t hold a note.

Change them. Prick your fingers as you peel
them from your neck and slip in clearer steel.

Strings

Like a wildfire, I came over you
and into you. You took my heat inside
your bark, your branches, penetrating through,
and met with dew the heat I tried to hide.

you covered me in consonants and mist,
soaked my skin to wrinkles with your touch

the five hours our lives diverge, the loss
of touch for six months, pebbles in the lake.

Started with Baauer's ending synth part and created a wonderfully nostalgic harmonic sequence, and over the course of the song let it crescendo in glitchiness and almost spiral out of control, but revert back to the peaceful nostalgic theme, like an argument that grows and breaks and then both parties remember the tenderness they have for each other.
