Drumcell and Thomas Hoffknecht team up for ‘Severance Check EP’ on Chris Liebing’s CLR this March.

Working together for the first time, Los Angeles’ based Drumcell, previously a core CLR artist, and Hamburg-based DJ and producer Thomas Hoffknecht join forces for ‘Severance Check EP’ on CLR, turning in four heaving techno tracks for Chris Liebing’s imprint.

Leading the release is the original mix of ‘Arrp’, which sees two further edits throughout the EP. Bringing heavy synth stabs and pumping drums, the track kicks off the release with a bang. Following is the ‘Cut Edit’ of ‘Arrp’, bringing a headsy dose of alternate stabs and loose claps to the mix for a rowdy edit.

The title track, ‘Severance Check’, follows with tripped out bleeps, reverberated percussion, and crunching sound FX before ‘Arrp (Tool Edit)’ closes out the release with a dose of pounding kicks, sizzling hats, and monstrous breakdowns.

Liebing’s iconic CLR imprint, started in 1999, returned in 2021 after a five-year hiatus. Initially titled Chris Liebing Records until 2010, then Create Learn Realize until the break, and now Create Learn Repeat, CLR reemerged in the techno underground with releases from Liebing himself, followed by newcomer Frankie Bromley, upstarts Hertz Collision & Gene Richards Jr, and DEAS, as well as veteran Luke Slater.

We welcome back one of AnalyticTrail label's favourites and one of Europe's leading DJ and producers this month, Hanubis, who delivers his brand new EP, "Kendrok".

A firm favourite of label boss Markantonio, Alessandro Iacovelli aka Hanubis make his third appearance on the label following up two previous and successful Eps, "Dish and Violence" respectively released in 2020 and 2021, plus many Various Artists tracks which had been constantly supported by big names like Charlotte De Witte above all.

His music is renowned for its powerful, percussive and playful sound and his records have found homes on an impressive list of labels including Sam Paganini's Jam, Suara, Codex Recordings, Syncopate but on Analytictrail his unique style of Techno is getting darker and harder than others as showed by "Kendrok" which opens the EP. "Reaktor" keeps the same mood of the first track with its fast paced rhythms and hard hitting kick then closes the EP with "False Alarm" with a pounding beat which keeps the energy high.

Following the success of the duo’s ‘Forte’ album earlier this year, Pan-Pot’s highly esteemed Second State label is thrilled to announce the release of the 13th edition of the ‘SUM’ various artist compilation. As a celebration of Techno music, this compilation showcases the genre’s finest, promising to leave a lasting impression on enthusiasts worldwide.

The tracklist, curated with precision, features a diverse range of artists, each contributing unique sounds that encapsulate the soul of techno music. The compilation initiates with the pulsating energy of “Warehouse Impulse” by Audio State, setting a high-octane tone from the outset. Ben Champell’s “Give Me That” follows, with its raw and powerful sound captivating listeners. The hypnotic journey continues with “Basic Instinct” by Bruce Zalcer, showcasing intricate melodies and driving rhythm. Chris Hirose & RNDTXTR collaborate on “Sits,” a track that fuses deep basslines with harsh percussion and pulsating synth stabs to create a mesmerising atmosphere.

The middle of the compilation is marked by the spell-casting sounds of “Keep Dancing” by Katnada, followed by “You Will Not Colonize” by Kmyle, which exemplifies the genre’s rebellious spirit. Kristian Heikkila’s “Craft,” M.F.S Observatory’s “Interstellar,” and Procombo’s “Freaks” each add a unique flavour to the compilation, pushing the boundaries of Techno. Ramon Tapia’s “DSP Engine” and Wigbert’s “Delayed” conclude the compilation emphatically with a duo of tracks that champion the true versatility of Techno as one of the world’s most celebrated musical concepts.

Each track on ‘SUM’ Vol. 13 highlights the distinctiveness of the artist’s sound while maintaining a cohesive flow. Jeff Mills’ “The Bells” is one of the most iconic tracks in techno history, often called the genre’s anthem. Known for its hypnotic bell melody, driving kick, and euphoric build, it became a staple in DJ sets worldwide. The track was first played live by Mills in 1995 (e.g., at Liquid Room in Tokyo), but it wasn’t officially released until 1997 as part of the Kat Moda EP on his Purpose Maker label. This EP is the original record pressing you’re asking about—no standalone “The Bells” single exists from that era. It has since been repressed multiple times due to massive demand (over 500,000 copies sold across versions).

This time is Ricardo Rodrigues AKA Industrialyzer who lands on the court of Damon Wild with three tracks perfectly aliened with the label's philosophy, Synewave has been at the service of real techno for over 20 years. 

It all begins with "Analogue Planet" a 130 bpm journey which rouses the dance floor whilst stimulating the mind, giving both of them no mercy. 

The second track, "Multiple Walls", carries the flavour of an Old School small march with a hammondesque synth which revolves around the groove from beginning to end. 

The atmosphere becomes dark and acid in the third and final track on this release. "Orbit X" is an emotional roller coaster which develops in different phases, everyone of which takes the listener by surprise. 

With this release Industrialyzer reminds us that, after all, New York, Detroit, Chicago, Berlin, Amsterdam or Lisbon don't really matter, quality techno is a global affair and Synewave consistently confirms this with releases above all schemes, movements and trends. Monumental.

Several of his tracks are ranked in the Beatport top 100 and are played by artists like Carl Cox, Amelie Lens, Adam Beyer or Pan pot in festivals world wide such as Tomorrowland, Love Family Park or Awakenings. 
He is here to stay, being a bet for the future of techno music.
