Osmosis (feat. 88gusto & Yungster Jack)

Stefan (he/they), also known by their DJ name, SAMO, has been deejaying off and on for more than a decade. They are a queer, black, transmasc San Francisco/Bay Area native but have lived in NYC since 2012. Their passion in life is spinning music for others, and introducing folks to music genres that are not mainstream particularly from the African Diaspora. SAMO’s deejay sets consist of an agile blend of music of the diaspora including Afrobeats, Amapiano, and Afrohouse with a splash of dancehall, hip&hop, and r&B. They live in Crown Heights with their dog Freddy, and when they are not deejaying, they work in the world of public health, they love to read, connect with their friends and family, work out, play video games, and watch Anime.
 
What is your sonic wave? 
Inter-dimensional travel through the rhythms of heavy log drums

How does being a Taurus impact the way you approach music? 
Tarusues love to indulge in everything that makes us feel good. So i love to spin music that makes me feel good. Taurues also like to to march to the beat of our own drums, and we have good taste in ALL things lo. which means I am going to play music that I LIKE, not what’s popular or mainstream, and I bet you’ll enjoy it even if you have never heard it before :)

How has music healed you? 
Since I was a kid, I have used music as my antidepressant serum. Music has held me through all kinds of trials and tribulations through my life. I was also a club kid in my 20s and found my queer community on the dance floor of many parties. Music LIVES within me, I am always listening to it, I can’t live without it. I am in LOVE with music, and always will be.

Another naughty show, but with a far more relaxed vibe that the previous few shows. A lovely collection of Liquid to smooth out your creases. The show is usually broadcast live, but this was a cheeky prerecord. I couldn't do a live show because I was on a silent meditation retreat for a week. No talking. No tech. No books. No phone. Nowt. Not even allowed any Drum & Bass! All for a good cause though. Sorting my shit out!!! Going within, where all the answers lay.
