My name's Max, born and bred In Saint-Petersburg , Russia. I'm 37 year-old (damn time flies! I was 33 seven tracks ago!)self taught guitarist. I enjoy jazzish music like, um, Miles Davis, his friends and his friends’ friends. I tend to listen mostly to that ‘old’ jazz, by that I mean 50s. I do like guys like E.S.T or Robert Glasper, but I still feel as if I’m sitting on a soft velvet couch when I hear that 50s jazz sound. Recently, I’ve rediscovered funk, interestingly, I enjoy modern funk, like Stanton Moore or Charlie Hunter, and yeah I totally dig The Meters, Soulive and my all-time favorite is Beastie Boys’ The In Sound From Way Out. My biggest influence are Ted Greene and Lenny Breau - great human beings and their music is a huge source of inspiration for me. I do like other music and styles of music but now, today I tap my foot listening to the mentioned above.
