Founding members Johnny Kincaid (Vocals, Electronics) & Ned Wall (Bass) initiated The Chances in early 2012, with vague ideas of creating experimental pop music. Soon joined by Dan Rankin (Guitar)sound and Arthur Peters (Drums), the foundations for the band were laid.

The Chances had a busy 2013, impressing audiences throughout their hometown, London and Paris. They headlined Brighton’s renowned Concorde 2 in August and supported established acts such as Last Dinosaurs and The Other Tribe. The band also secured a show at Paris’s iconic Le Gibus Club, expanding their horizons and building on their French fan base. 

The band have just got back from the studio, recording two tracks with acclaimed producer Teo Miller (Blur, Placebo). The tracks recorded, Hieroglyphics and Exist, capture a powerful snapshot of a band demonstrating momentum and purpose.

Combining their influences from both rock and experimental genres, The Chances provide a blend of crushing electronica and alternative rock elements. The band have become recognised throughout their city for their no holds barred, energetic live show. One music journalist Tim Whale stated that ‘although it is possible to draw correlations with some of the top-notch avant-garde bands of previous generations, I feel the quartet have created a sound for the ‘10s, and harking back to earlier ensembles would be to detract from the genuine exploratory and creative nature of The Chances’.
