This episode we had to talk about the European Super League.

We wanted to lay out what happened in chronological order, provide details and context on why this happened, why it happened in the manner it did (at midnight without anyone's consultation) and the impact this could have had on the sport. 

The three of us wanted to provide our own raw reaction to the decision these owners made to attempt change the European soccer landscape overnight, how it would have impacted our fandom since Dave and Matt follow two "Super League clubs," and explain why we think the formation of a league like this could have destroyed the sport forever.

This week we brought on another one of Matt’s oldest friends, Jack Machulski. Jack is a Liverpool fan and came on to talk about how he got into watching soccer, Liverpool’s difficult season, and at the end we talked some Champions League.

This week Dave brought one of his college teammates, Nigel Gustave on the show. We got to hear how Nigel got into soccer and started playing competitively, his thoughts on his team Barcelona, and even some Serie A since Milan crushed Juventus 3-0 which is BS but it is what it is.

This week we brought Rolf's friend Noah on the show to talk Premier League. Noah moved to London and became a Premier League fanatic while he was there and in advance of the final match days of league soccer in Europe.

This week we had a guest that Matt and Dave have both known for over five years. Edgar was a coach at St. John's Prep where both Matt and Dave went to high school.

Min 0:00 - 35:00: We introduce Edgar and he shares his journey starting with growing up playing soccer on gravel field in Guatemala then moving to the US and ultimately make his way to semiprofessional competition. 

Edgar also shares his best playing, coaching and viewing experiences have been so far and also tells us about some of the jobs he's had in soccer. We ask who his top 5 players of all time are, and got to hear some great stories about his time with Stevie Nicol when he coached the Revs and getting to meet the great mid-2000s AC Milan teams.

This week we finally got to sit down together as a group. We talked Euros the whole way through so it's hard to put out a schedule here.

We talked the group of death with Germany, France, Portugal and Hungary which gave us three of the best games of the tournament. Additionally we reflect on Belgium's group with Denmark, Italy's performance, the Dutch and where they stand, England's performance in a weak group and the Sweden/Spain group. 

Then we predict the round of sixteen and give our thoughts on how the tournament could shake out results pending.

34:00 min - End: We broke down England's tournament. Why did they stick with such a passive system? Who were their best players and who underperformed at the tournament? We assess Southgate as well and had our say on what this current England squad's ceiling is under him.
