On 16. July 2022 I had the great pleasure to play at bürro in Mainz, alongside Shadi Zaitoun and Super Venus. Now, as we all know, recording sets can be a tricky thing. This time it finally worked out. Listen to some 2,5 hours of many different styles, just how I like it.

Sevensol is a splendid producer, DJ and label boss. Kann, the label of which he co-founded alongside Bender, has become one of the best and most significant in a new wave of record labels championing House music in Europe. A figurehead of the Leipzig underground music scene Sevensol cut his teeth at record stores across the city, working behind the counters and gathering a wealth of knowledge which would go on to inform and inspire his own taste and perspective as a DJ.

His music is often deep, pensive and driven by emotions. This is perhaps best noted on his own productions, upon which he works with Bender to craft stripped back, textural music which tugs at the heartstrings as much as it moves the feet.

As a DJ Sevensol’s style is innovative and unique, seeking to take dancers on a journey through multiple genres and styles, all with ethereal undertones. Sevensol is also one half of the DJ duo Manamana alongside Map.ache.

We invited him to record this mixtape a little while back and now that it’s shown up it doesn’t disappoint.

@yamour030 has been gaining a reputation for her versatility as a DJ, serving both techno and house music with equal passion and commitment. As a vinyl purist, she has developed a signature sound that draws from the roots of US techno and house, yet maintaining a contemporary twist that ensures her sets feel both current and timeless.

The Berlin natives‘ deep-seated love and knowledge of music eventually led her to a coveted role at Hard Wax. During her four-year employment, she was able to refine her skills further, honing her ear for quality and sifting through countless records to unearth hidden gems that would later become staples in her sets.

Expect an eclectic mix of captivating tunes that keeps the energy high and the crowd engaged. Whether you’re a techno-head or a house aficionado, Yamour’s sets are not to be missed.

'Spinning Grounds' by @katharina-davids is all about opening grounds for newcomers to spin their music - to explore genres from house, Detroit, dub techno to break beat.

Next one for our OYE Podcast series is good friend and long time OYE customer Sara Miller. We are very happy to have her on board with such a good mood bringing mix, perfect to welcome summer.

Sara Miller is an Irish-born DJ, producer and sound engineer based in Berlin. Her party series Naive Melodies began in the Kreuzberg club Kleine Reise in 2012, before upping USB sticks and moving to Loftus Hall and STATTBAD. Through years as a product of her own parties and regular appearances at Berlin's legendary Renate, Sara honed her craft for extended sets with genre-bending selections. Over the past years, she has continued to play at many of Berlin's most respected clubs including Watergate, About Blank and ELSE as well as establishing her name across Europe and beyond. Her debut track Orange Sea, released in mid-2021 on the Munich label Permanent Vacation, has gained considerable momentum since its release including support from Roman Flügel and Jennifer Cardini.

Sara’s debut EP “Lunar Theory” will be released in May 2023 on Permanent Vacation. On the EP's four tracks, Sara has drawn inspiration from her broad musical knowledge and years of DJing experience and party wizardry. You can detect influences from classic 90's house, breakbeat, Italo and Acid in her tracks, all combined into a fresh and sparkling result. But music is not the only source of inspiration for this notorious night owl; nighttime and its celestial companion, the moon, are equally important to Sara’s work. So “Lunar Theory” is a sonic journey that attempts to reflect the movements of the moon. Four phases of moonlight manoeuvres written after dark.

Die fabelhaften Kids vom ‘What…If?!’ Kollektiv haben mich gebeten einen DJ Mix anzufertigen. Dem kam ich nach, ohne mit der Wimper zu zucken. Ich habe mich also hingesetzt um bei einer leckeren Tasse Monster Energy, in aller Ruhe, ein paar Schallplatten zusammen zu schieben.

„Deepness wird beim Fabi groß geschrieben.“ 

Dieses Zitat meiner Großmutter triffts eigentlich ganz gut. Insgesamt bin ich von gängigen Prime Time Nummern eher gelangweilt und suche deshalb mein Glück auf der B-Seite. Weich-seidige Glückseligkeit zwischen Mitternacht und übermorgen, gerne auch ein bisschen trippig und verspult. So, oder so ähnlich wollte ich auch dieses Mixtape klingen lassen. Herausgekommen ist ein Mix, den man am besten beim gemeinsamen Picknick im Garten, zum Wanderausflug, Tontaubenschießen, vielleicht zu Kaffee und Kuchen und natürlich auch zu einer Session Power Yoga, mit der besten Freundin, genießen kann.

Für jeden Klick, den der Mix erhält, pflanze ich einen Baum.
