Bridging the gap between Berlin and Ibiza, Eagles & Butterflies the English-born artist has been showing up on an increasing amount of radars for the past couple years now, gaining support from Dixon, Amê, John Digweed, Tale Of Us and many more. Now he’s just completed his second studio album, an 11 track work titled ‘Abstract’. From the first notes of the opening track, ‘We Get High (feat. J.U.D.G.E)’ is a darker shade of beautiful. The track gently slides into position before the vocals hit, giving an almost melancholic feel and opening the album on a kind of sentimental note.

Then with ‘Colours of Arps,’ Eagles & Butterflies captivates us with arpeggios, warm synths and a warm atmosphere. The use of arpeggiators is wide spread throughout, becoming the thread that ties the album together. The album’s third track shifts quickly from the warm and sunny vibes to a darker, cooler place somewhere deep in the late Mediterranean nights. But the sun does rise and ‘Same Place Same Time’ gives us our first dose of club music. Next ‘Colours’ spreads its wings with its deep basslines and eerie, electrically charged atmosphere. We take a turn for organic percussion in the aptly titled, ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ as Eagles & Butterflies takes us on a guided tour through the forests of House music.

One thing is for certain regarding ‘Abstract’, the only constant is diversity. As we near the midway mark, Eagles & Butterflies has managed to bring an astounding amount of styles and genres together, cohesively and naturally. ‘Textures’ draws its inspiration from a more technoid direction, while still maintaining a bouncy, House vibe. As does ‘The Secret Garden’, chugging along, building a soft tension that gets melted by the elegant ‘Sounds Of Colours’. ‘Sounds of Colours’ takes its time to blossom, but when it does we are greeted with delicate rays of sunlight that pierce through the grey and stormy skies. A solid, beautiful piece of music.

One of the last three remaining tracks feature vocals from J.U.D.G.E again, whose voice beautifully reflects the mood and ambience while delivering massive amounts of emotion to ‘So Long’. ‘So Long’ is the easily one of the most effortlessly-danceable tracks on the album, bringing a solid groove, addictive vocals and warm tones delicately together. Ending the album on a high note, ‘Black Canvas’ is like springtime, fresh, warm and full of life.

About the EP => 
Back and fresh on the release circuit for 2k18 is Berlin-based Jose Antonio Garcia Soler, better known to his friends and followers by his artistic nom de guerre KID SIMIUS. The KID proudly presents his FLASHBACK EP, a heartwarming monster of a single featuring no-one less than the beloved band outfit KILNAMANA comprised of Enda Gallery and KID SIMIUS' brother Miguel Garcia Soler. With the original version of Flashback KID SIMIUS and KILNAMANA present a tender, yet highly emotional slow jam, a modernistic take on contemporary Future R'n'B and Urban Soul accompanied by epic synth leads, a sparse electronic and surely beatmaker influenced foundation. It's electrifying chorus touches hearts from deep within. On a remix tip for Flashback is NICONE. The German producer who's been stirring up dancefloors throughout the past decade with releases on labels such as Stil Vor Talent, Katermukke and his very own imprint Dantze. Their debut “Dogs” took the Beatport Deep House Charts by storm. With their second EP “Jack” the Vienna-based duo HVOB fuel the anticipation for their forthcoming debut album.

In 2012, a young duo from Vienna proved to be one of the great success stories of Europe’s electronic music landscape: HVOB (short for “Her Voice over Boys”) only uploaded initial snippets on Soundcloud last April, reached number 4 in the Beatport Deep House Charts with their debut EP “Dogs”, number 10 in the Top Live Acts of the Year and number 11 in the Best Singles of 2012 in DE:BUG’s readers' poll, while performing live at festivals such as Germany’s Melt!. Moreover, the year was concluded by a particular honour: the leading Lebanese-French fashion designer Elie Saab chose HVOB’s sound for his new collection video.

With their inaugural release, Anna Müller (composition, production, vocals) and Paul Wallner (composition and final production) managed to create an entirely new and unique world of sound: HVOB represent intelligent and sophisticated electronic music that is equally emotive and melodic.

2013 kicks off with the release of HVOB’s second EP: “Jack” will be available on vinyl and Beatport on February 22. Here, the duo presents two new original tracks in the form of “Jack” and “Moon”, while one will also find two prominent remixes of “Jack”. The Berliner DJs Niconé & Sascha Braemer weave the original’s driving beats and Anna Müller’s hypnotic voice into their own sound aesthetic, and Valencia’s Edu Imbernon transforms “Jack” into a dark and forceful deep house track.

Especially Edu Imbernon’s contribution highlights HVOB’s current standing within Europe’s scene: the Spaniard, who recently remixed “The Reunion” by The XX among others, was so impressed by HVOB’s sound that it led him to approach the young Viennese pair and offer a collaboration.
