Dear friends, I'm grateful to share with you the recording of a morning session I had the pleasure to DJ on the cutest art car, Lucy S Cargo the colourful Sonic Snail 🌈  after sunrise on Friday AM at Burning Man 2024.

It was a sunny Friday morning on this love planet, smiling and taking life as it comes, lightly and playfully. 

I was so glad to DJ alongside @christianvoldstad and after my brother @dextercrowe who was soundtracking his first sunrise session on the playa so beautifully! I recommend you start with his set so you can hear the earlier chapter of this sunrise journey.

ES: Fue un martes... de esos que vale la pena recordar.
La familia de Gravity nos recibió en Burning Man con el corazón latiendo... Se resolvió en abrazos cálidos y risas.
Ese día, junto a Bodaishin, hicimos casi 2 horas de sesión para el camp 2:45 & D junto a Kora, Dexter Crowe, Kalaman, Winson y la familia. Se vibró calidad en todos los aspectos... y cuando eso sucede, cuando ese momento viene a completarnos y darnos vida, la magia sucede y ahí, donde nos sentimos vivos y apreciamos, un poco más, lo linda que es la vida.

Espero disfruten de esta sesión, son nada más y nada menos que nuestras sensaciones.

EN:It was a Tuesday... one of those worth remembering.
The Gravity family welcomed us at Burning Man with their hearts beating... It all resolved in warm hugs and laughter.
That day, together with Bodaishin, we played nearly 2 hours for Camp 2:45 & D along with Kora, Dexter Crowe, Kalaman, Winson, and the family. The energy was palpable in every aspect... and when that happens, when that moment comes to complete us and bring us to life, magic happens. And there, where we feel alive and appreciate, a little more, how beautiful life is.

I hope you enjoy this session. 
It’s nothing more and nothing less than our feelings.

German producer Frank Savio returns with his new Progressive House release, Poltergeist EP, out on October 2 via PURRFECTION.

The EP opens with Phobic, a brooding, tension-filled cut, and Falling From Spring, where melodic warmth meets driving rhythm. The title track Poltergeist anchors the release with its haunting atmospheres and dynamic sound design.

Remix support comes from Leandro Murua, who delivers an uplifting reinterpretation of Falling From Spring, while Dublew & goodkidd bring a darker, high-energy twist to Phobic. ShemoW adds a deep, late-night flavor, and Gowzer sharpens the EP’s club edge with a hypnotic groove.

"2018 at BM was only my second burn and after my first (4 years prior) I did not think it could get any better… But this year somehow was 100 times better! I think this was due to camping with the amazing Pink Mammoth crew and family. Arriving there a few days early to help set up was incredible to acclimatise and hang out. So many people at PM are already close friends, but this year I met loads of new people who, I can now call family. 

At my first BM I also played at PM, although none of us can work out how I ended up playing there specifically haha! We think Derek knew I was coming and asked if I would like to play. Thankfully he did, because I instantly fell in love with the camp and playing there. Four years on, (and playing many times for PM at their events) it felt like coming home. Its so satisfying playing somewhere where you feel completely relaxed to play what you want to play, in a perfect environment.  

This set also was made extra special by an amazing (pre planned) marriage proposal mid set between Harrison and Felicity. Harrison had told me a couple days prior that my song “In Love” was one of his and Felicity's favourite songs that they shared together. He wanted to propose and asked if I could play the song for them whilst he did so. I of course was completely honoured so myself and Harrison arranged that I would play it mid set, about an hour in and would give him a nod to signal it. With his broken ankle (he’d broken it just a day prior!), they both climbed up onto the speaker, and to Felicity’s surprise, just as “In Love” started to come in, he proposed in front of the whole crowd! Of course she said yes ;)

So you’ll hear in this mix the volume dip at the start of “In Love”, which is a lovely memento forever recorded in this mix! Hope you all enjoy! Tim.”

Known for his releases on All Day I Dream and iconic sets at Burning Man's Robot Hearts stage, Hoj closes out our week with a dreamy Guest Mix.

Over two decades in dance music have made Hoj more than capable of living up to his reputation as a sonic storyteller. His cinematic sets explore the deep house landscape with a fervor that resonates through dance floors across the globe.

Close colleagues like Lee Burridge simply refer to his style as “Hoj house” rather than attempting to pin down its eclectic nuances. Although a longer road, staying the course of his artistic vision has paid off. In addition to a residency and landmark releases on Burridge’s All Day I Dream imprint, he now provides a platform for like-minded producers by way of their joint venture, Tale and Tone.

An extensive background in the visual arts set Hoj (pronounced with a long Ō) on a path less traveled by the average DJ/producer. Born in Iran and raised in the Bay Area of the U.S., he grew up exposed to film and music alike. Prior to DJing full time his background was in film, design and new media. He was the brainchild behind All Day I Dream’s brand identity, coming up with the single cloud design.

Hoj also discovered electronic music early in life. He attended his first rave in San Francisco in the early 90s, and he experienced the inauguration of legendary warehouse venue Homebase. After DJing for a few years, he made his San Francisco debut at Qoöl Happy Hour, an event series that took place at 111 Minna Gallery.

Soon afterwards he got involved with outfits like Opel Productions and Spundae, which afforded him audiences at the city’s more prominent nightclubs. He went on to help build the inaugural Opulent Temple sound camp for the 2003 edition of Burning Man. He has performed annually at the transformative gathering ever since.

Upon moving to New York City in 2008, however, Hoj outgrew the category of local DJ. Each passing year after that point brought bigger milestones and more momentum.

After his set on the Robot Heart art car during the 2010 edition of Burning Man, he was booked at the world-famous Berlin nightclub Berghain’s Panorama Bar. 2011 saw Lee Burridge launch All Day I Dream to serve the dual purpose of a record label and event brand, and he enlisted Hoj as a resident DJ of the latter. Since then Hoj has brought dance floors to life across the globe. Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City account for much of his fan base, but his following has also grown significantly in locations like Canada, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, Dubai, Romania and London.

2017 marked two especially groundbreaking turning points for Hoj: His long-awaited debut as a producer and the unveiling of he and Burridge’s new record label, Tale and Tone. The label features music the founding DJs play at night, unique tunes with both story and groove. Around the same time, his own Telefade EP, released on All Day I Dream. The three-track EP included “Leap Day” as well as a remix of the title track by Bedouin. Hoj followed up Telefade with his own Tale and Tone release in 2018. Titled “Ramblefog,” it appeared on the imprint’s Prologue compilation, What has followed is more releases on both labels, and a touring schedule that has seen him deliver magic across all four corners of the globe.

6AM Guest Mix: Hoj

While we are all experiencing the impacts of a global pandemic, it has been interesting to see the affects in which people engage with music. Be it singing together from balconies, watching live streams on social media or composing isolation songs, many of these new forms and repertoires bore witness to an underlying conviction about music’s ability to create and maintain social bonds, to show gratitude, to promote public health, and to escape from anxiety, boredom, loneliness, stress, and uncertainty about the future. I wish to thank the Flow Music Crew for expanding upon this. 
Music is a method of therapy and a means of accessing and stimulating specific cerebral circuits. As someone who has a music & neuroscience background, it has been very interesting to see music’s effects be put to the test. During times of spatial distancing, the role of music in social convergence has been strongly pushed to the forefront. There is a strong an association between musical creativity and psychopathology. I know we are all impacted in one way or another at present, so I hope this curation of music is somewhat therapeutic. I hope this set allows you to positively reflect whilst simultaneously escaping into your own ideal psychological state. After all.. Art history is the unfolding of subjectivity

Premiere | KYOTTO- Once Upon a Time (Original Mix) [3rd Avenue]

It’s happening! AFTER ALL - who would have thought. The German producer duo „Überhaupt & Außerdem“ release their EP on the 10th of October under the extraordinary label, Baikal Nomads.

Überhaupt & Außerdem, Philipp and Andreas, children of the German reunification, born on different sides of the Berlin Wall. Twins - 50% east, 50% west. They initially bumped heads in the city of Tübingen as band members and promoters in the creative scene. Soon, they joined their longtime shared passion for electronic music and DJing, which quickly morphed into first independent productions.

Their style has since developed by plunging deeper into production techniques, contemplating the essence of musicality through external critique and constructive feedback - so far by renowned Artists as Solee, Dominik Eulberg and Björn Torwellen, amongst others. During the time of lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic they fully immersed into their creative work. The fruits of this time are now presented on the „After All“ EP which features the Canadian guitar prodigy Calum Graham and in addition comes with remixes by Deisen, Guy Maayan and Juliano Gomez.

Their sound might be perceived as downtempo with substantial attention to detail and complexity. It is sustained by an emotional touching spectrum of fluffy warmth to gloomy drive that never lacks attitude.

Later this year, you can expect more remixes, releases and podcasts among other content through Akasha MX and Katahaifisch.
