Berlin's new hottest residents Eric Volta & Sebastian Voigt team up once again, this time bringing their infectiously deep and dark edge onto the Visionquest imprint. With intoxicating dreamy synths, title track 'Words And Chance' opens up into real groover with the seductively haunting lyrics from rising artist Forrest adding a new dimension. On the flip one quarter of the Visionquest power force Lee Curtiss takes the reins to deliver a chugging dancefloor ready remix with effective play on the vocal. Citing diverse influences such as The KLF, Prince, the sort of left-field disco played by DJ Harvey and classic house producers like Mr. Fingers, Matthew Wasley aka Human Life produces catchy, potent electronic music with engaging vocals and strong song writing.

Originally from Boston, Human Life now lives in Los Angeles where he met Anabel Englund and the two became fast friends, soaking in the city’s underground warehouse parties together. "El Diablo“ (original version released on Win Music) marks the second collaboration of the pair, the first being their track "Falling“ which was released on Hot Creations in 2013. "El Diablo“ has lyrics influenced by Jim Morrison, harmonies reminiscent of The Beach Boys, and a deep, disco influenced production with an early 90’s touch. 

It was Sean Glass from Win Music NYC who sent the track to Shir Khan. The latter liked the original track so much that they both decided to give it some decent Exploited All Star Remix package. 

Now here are 4 different remixes for the club from Exploited mainstays Adana Twins and Joyce Muniz as well as friends Mia Dora and Hotlane.

Anabel Englund: "My friend Matthew Wasley (aka Human Life) introduced me to music like Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, Kim Ann Foxman, Maya Jane Coles, Adana Twins and it all started from there. For the first time hearing it, I would say it sounded like sex. Good, dirty sex and I was hooked ever since.“

Human Life: "I would make her playlists every week to listen to. Adana Twins’ track "Everyday" was the soundtrack to many a car ride home. It's only fitting that now years later the Adana's have remixed our track "El Diablo“!“

2015 saw Damian Lazarus create his most ambitious project to date in The Ancient Moons, producing a full length album ‘Message From The Other Side’ with a wide assortment of vocalists and collaborators from around the world. They went on to support Roisin Murphy on tour, gain acclaim from the likes of Dazed & Confused and Lazarus became the final coverstar of the year in the UK”s Mixmag magazine.

Now the tracks from ‘The Other Side’ have been reinterpreted by an assortment of stars, from techno stalwarts Juan Atkins & Kimyon Huggins, to German experimental talent Kölsch, and Acid Pauli’s sprawling fusion of weirdness. The original material is ploughed in new and surprising directions by Black Butter’s own Gorgon City and Mehmet Asian, resident at Berlin’s infamous Wilde Renate club.

Talent from Lazarus’ label Crosstown Rebels, including Francesca Lombardo, DrumTalk and Israeli trio Red Axes also produce their own visions for the music, all of which retain the mysticism of the original with added dancefloor appeal. The final four tracks revisit some of the biggest moments from the Moons to date, as the album revisits interpretations from Jamie Jones, Dixon, Serge Devant and &Me.

Co-produced by James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine), The Ancient Moons was always a unique project, which has now been stretched to include the flavours of some of the most exciting artists shaping the musical landscape right now.

Recorded in Mexico, LA and London, ‘The Other Side’ features instrumentalists from Mozambique, Guinea, Pakistan, Egypt, America and even Mexico’s own Yucatan Symphony Orchestra.
