Returning to the European electronic music capital once more for its annual gathering, Mango Alley celebrates another Amsterdam Dance Event with the 8th incarnation of its exclusive compilation. A creative aesthetic blossoms in a city renowned for its artistic heritage where an intricate tapestry of art and music blends into a glorious collective assembly. From Grachtengordel to De Wallen and Prinsenelland to Jordaan, a global gathering of artists reunite and forge new friendships under dance music's all-inclusive banner.

Through 22 tracks of innovation and passion, a wonderful world of unity creates a dynamic point of view and a new golden age of art. Thumping beats and shimmering melodies bounce off cobbled streets and historic facades while a network of canals tell their own history in a city imbued with music old and new. Along the Damrak, a kaleidoscopic array or clubs vie for attention in a mesmerising display of sonic brilliance. Moving towards the stars and an inky black night sky, temporary feelings of tension and worry are unburdened in the Amsterdam nightlife, evaporating into the ether on the rising refrains of low-end vibrancy and rippling musical waves. Rising up and from somewhere else converged as one in Amsterdam.

'Pangea’s last release of the year comes courtesy of the UK’s Hall North.  His distinctive musical style has gained the attention of some of the best the scene has to offer, such as Lee Softley (Blue Amazon) and Krafted’s Paul Sawyer. Hall North’s musical style can be described as versatile and rhythmic. He also doesn’t like to stay pigeonholed in one style or genre. ‘Guarana’ is an example of just that, showcasing Hall North’s more melodic techno and proggish side. A track pulsating with rhythm and energy, ‘Guarana’ is the right play for any DJ with a peak late-night crowd. 

On remix duty is label boss DJ Samer and Seth Vogt. DJ Samer, fresh off a release for Australia’s Vapour Recordings, turns in a chunky and vibrant rendition of the Original he called his ‘Ode to Simon’s Cub’ Remix, held together by a memorable bass line and one-of-a-kind breakdown designed to shake the walls off any venue (including Simon’s)!  Seth Vogt also brings the progressive energy with another remix well worthy of the Pangea name.'

Words of Nio makes his debut on Sudbeat with an exciting brace of tracks. Patrice Baumel completes the package with a remix that shows his immense taste. 

Ibiza-based, multi-instrumentalist, Words of Nio is an audio chameleon influenced in his early years by Underworld, Depeche Mode and Aphex Twin. He played and toured with various bands since he was 16. After his last band broke up he took some time out to refocus, and by 2015 had moved to Ibiza to pursue a full-time music career again. Now signed to Renaissance, Get Physical and more, his sound is finding a wider audience and soundtracking parties across the globe. 

Opening with 'Beside The Fire', a deep shaker-led groove reveals soft piano and delicate vocals. Very much focused on vibe and atmosphere, the deepness is punctuated by clever FX and mindful sonics. On the remix, Patrice Bäumel focuses on the vocal elements creating something of a Thom Yorke vocal arrangement that squeezes out every last drop of emotion. One more stellar work added to his outstanding discography. Finally, the second original cut, 'Whispers', follows a more tribal path. Emotive and vocal, its perfect for those 4am-deep-in-your-own-space groovathons. Nuanced and incredibly detailed work from the new kid on the block!
