PREMIERE: Modera - Between The Lines Feat. Lewyn (Paradoks Remix) [Purified Records]

'Riigs & Skenna’s new EP takes them into the darker world of atmospheric dub - a sound they love and close to the heartbeat of the label. 

The title track 'Luna Dub' is built around an evolving analog bass sound, which came straight from the artists’ hardware synths.  Soft pads and an urgent arp bring the energy of the track as it opens up.  Play this one in the dark!

'White Summer' is a more ambient, atmospheric tune with lush pads, haunting vocals and a distant, repeating piano line.  One for the end of a set or a sunrise. 

'Moral Hazard' closes the EP with an acid-tinged but chilled dub tune built around a lead line supported by dreamy chords and glitchy percussion.  

This is an EP for late nights in filled rooms or lying under the stars dreaming. '

'Following an impressive showing on Scott Diaz’s ‘Rock Like’ EP, Toronto’s Darren Marshall returns to Groovphoria for his solo debut with an invigorating four-tracker loaded with authentic house flavours from start to finish.

The title cut ‘Lit The Wick’ kicks things off with punchy drum work and shuffled hat grooves complemented by a sea of brass, keys and tonal accents, bringing sophisticatedly funky NYC-style vibes to match its subtle vocal sampling - delivering endless danceability.

‘Come On Home’ follows, bringing more swinging rhythms and deepened tones, accented by jazzy riffs and offbeat synth stabs. This fusion of house and lounge jazz isn’t just elegant; it’s undeniably absorbing and will have you on your feet from the outset.

‘The Kids Dig It’ turns in more loosened vibes, opting for thickened undulating drums and a firm underbelly of rich sub-bass notes that complement an airy top layer of soulful synthesised goodness.

‘Tell Me’ rounds off the release with another delightfully captivating portion of grossly enriching house music flavours. Revolving around a nostalgic vocal layer that keeps you firmly rooted in the track’s unrelenting groove, its dreamy tide of crisp beats and mellow disco-inspired tones envelop you with ease.'

'Desert Hearts Black label boss Marbs returns to the imprint with his latest release ‘Trip & Roll’, a driving and deep new cut paired with stellar remixes by Detroit legend DJ Minx and fellow West Coast producer SHADED. The 3-track EP arrives just in time to serve up heavy baselines on festival dancefloors this year. 

As a Founder of the Desert Hearts brand known for its flagship annual festival for over 10 years running, world-renowned parties, and two record labels, Marbs has proven to be a longstanding pillar of the American dance music scene. His productions weave intricate percussive patterns with hypnotizing and emotional psychedelia. 

‘Trip & Roll’ is wonky and weird in the best ways. Aimed at the heads-down-and-groove late floors, it breathes its own off-kilter charm from the very first bar. Sparse percussion and clever drum placement open the track before pads energize into the break. A film-like vocal completes the trip and sends you into an otherworldly state. 

Dj Minx’s remix showcases her unique style with a stripped-back dubby angle, layering the original track’s motifs with her techno-focused touch. Finally, celebrated techno artist SHADED adds his signature feel on the EP - a more melodic flavour that will suit that pre-peak moment before the dancefloor loses its mind.'

Den Haag’s Gabriel Vezzola returns to Déepalma Records with an enchanting two-track release.

Gabriel Vezzola has been a dedicated member of the house music religion for over two decades, working with well-known artists around the globe. In that time, he shaped a path where he finally found his sound and unique way of creating music. After his last release on Déepalma in April 2022, Gabriel is back on on the label with another impressive offering spanning two tracks for ‘New Beginning’.

Kicking off with ‘Gnostis’, Vezzola kicks into gear with an enthralling symphonic Deep House cut. Leading with punchy grooves and sizzling hat sequences - the track’s thickened lead synth and pulsating bass drive the track forwards as subtle stabs and reflective layers orbit its main body to carve out a standout dance track.

‘You Just Gave It All Up’ closes the release with sultry tones and sophisticated style from the outset. Its rising vocal layers add an air of hypnotism from early on as the track unfolds into a late-night summertime anthem. The perfect choice for sunset sessions, the track’s intricate melodies and softened grooves float along effortlessly as the vocal topline melts into subtly rolling rhythms and a sea of simple yet dazzling musicality.
