Parquet Mixtape 32 by Meastral

Costantino and Casper aka Meastral, first met at school in the south of France, aged just 11 years old and began producing together at 14. A little older but still young, the very talented producers had their first release with us in April this year. "Solitudine" is an opening bomb for peaktime sets with a catchy, deep and powerful melody. "Miljo", the second track they released on our imprint two month ago was a good follow up track and they demonstrate their skills. We  invited Meastral to make a mixtape for our series. It is a very melodic and deep mix with pregnant basslines, they also showed in their tracks. So we are very happy to have them with us, thanks to Meastral. INTERVIEW

What do you do to get into a creative state? 
 "Before we start a studio session or dj set we smoke a joint and have a chat. "

What do you love most about being an artist? 
"To be an artist is a privilege to do things however you like."

How do you stay focused in a world of constant distraction? 
"It’s not easy to be honest. We try to calm down regularly, hang out with friends or just do nothing. It’s really important to have your quality &/or me time and seperate your privacy from public. "

Do you have a morning routine?
Ilu: "Mine is relatively simple. Wake up, drink a coffee, go for a walk with my dog and drink another coffee. "
Aaye: "I try to find my morning routine but basically I wake up, take a big breakfast with a lot of coffee and listen to music."

What, for you, is the purpose of art?
"For us the sense of art is the enjoyment! "

What is sacred to you?
"As we already told you quality & me time is very important to recover. Without this we wouldn’t be creative anymore."

What is your opinion on failure? 
"As stupid as that may sound, failure is incredibly important. Only from this can you gain experience and develop yourself further."

What would your 16 year old you think about what you’re doing today?
"A dream comes true."

John Evexc was born in Germany in 1981. Towards his late childhood he was an enthusiastic listener of electronic music. His passion for playing electronic music began in 2001. In 2015 he founded his project Sonne, Strand und Meer to give more attention to the music he loves and lives. This channel has provided a platform for numerous up and coming artists to showcase their talent.

Snyze was born in Germany. As an enthusiastic listener of electronic music, she was drawn to the dance floors of clubs and festivals, and she quickly developed a passion for playing music herself. From House to Deep House up to melodic Techno, she creates varied and fluent sets which invite you to dance. In 2019 she joined the podcast channel Sonne, Strand und Meer. 

Now, Evexc and Snyze work together on their project and on the decks.

We at Institution have been following both Evexc and Snyze, and listen regularly to their stellar underground Sonne Strand und Meer podcast. As you are about to find out, this duo is super talented; we love this mix!
