Premiere: Ashworth - Sawdust [Needwant]

Auntie Flo has been with us since the very beginning, so it's naturally a pleasure to present you with the first audio off his forthcoming LP – arriving via our other favourite Glaswegian worldly worldie Huntley + Palmers, no less.

The title track is one of the more direct, streamlined cuts we've heard from Brian D'Souza. It's an outstretched hand to dancefloors worldwide, though very much in thrall to the quintessential bubbling gumbo pot of influences we've come to know and love from the man.

So In Love sees release October 18th; the single drops Sept 7th. Taken from the forthcoming album 'Theory of Flo' out in October 2015.

bass-lines, rhythmic percussions and mesmerising progressions, with a

The new Luca Bacchetti EP, Genesis, comes out on ENDLESS right on the cusp between 
the Old and New Year. Once again Luca divests himself of all preconceived ideas, taking 
the project into 4 separate directions, 4 different soundscapes; but maintaining as underlying common denominators the attention to detail that has always distinguished his productions
and his unmistakable groove, the poetic dimension and narrative ability always manages
to reach its peak in the breaks.

Yes, because Luca always takes sound snapshots, sounds that become images, stories
that arise from the imagery as always linked to travel and that continues to inspire the Italian
DJ and producer: so passionate, deep, never cold. From the African hints in Above the Line
to the melodies of the title track, Genesis, bringing us back with its atmosphere to the Middle
East. Anaconda could be a journey into the darkness of space, while Fireflies and Crickets
written with The Box (Trio) brings us back to a bucolic dimension we experienced as children.
The EP will be released both on vinyl and as a two part digital release.

A transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self. Our next excursion brings us to the idea of ‘Nirvana’. Self described as psychedelic techno, Franz Alice Stern leads the release with a trance-like, meditative track. The powerful bass-drum maintains energy, while contrasting pads and arpeggios add a reflective mood. 

Miss Melera makes her Polymath debut with a deep and melancholic trip. With important releases on Chapter 24 Records, and Berlin’s Traum Schallplatten, we felt Nirvana was a fitting theme for the artist. As uplifting as it is dark, the track builds momentum through an infectious groove. A break makes space for new musical ideas, until a final climax ends in a melodic release. 

Marseille duo, Fathers, take a different approach. Organic instruments feature in this compelling piece, led by bass guitar. Gentle melodies flitter in and out of the ear adding to the refreshing mood.

Bawrut is back on the Ransom Note - and the 3rd track of the EP, 'Tano', is an alchemical concoction, transmuting handclaps, chirrups, chants, 303s, and deep state meditation into a starburst explosion of unfettered joy. The other two tracks on the EP are also killers, so it's not to be missed!

Side A features Andy, music made by Superpitcher in memory and admiration of a pioneer artist and his works. Andy Warhol looks a scream, Hang him on my wall, Andy Warhol, Silver Screen, Can't tell them apart at all, Andy walking, Andy tired, Andy take a little snooze, Tie him up when he's fast asleep, Send him on a pleasant cruise, When he wakes up on the sea, Be sure to think of me and you, He'll think, about paint and he'll think about glue, What a jolly boring thing to do. David Bowie’s lyrics about Andy Warhol mirror the groovy yet deeply moving emotion of this track. The music Superpitcher imagined here is a pleasant cruise in itself and once you wake up from it, you will for sure think of Andy.

Side B features Yves. The track starts with a long introduction of harp music and then gently evolves into one of the more fragile and poetic pieces Superpitcher has created thus far for The Golden Ravedays record. Similar to Andy this track is dedicated to an artist, Yves Saint Laurent. What is clear in this music is that there is an intense understanding of the suffering Yves Saint Laurent lived throughout his life as an artist and fashion designer. As only Superpitcher can, he translated that emotion into this beautiful and touching piece of music.

The streets were busy and crowded with people dancing in joyous celebration, carnival season was well underway and the sound of sirens and trumpets echoed loudly in the mid summer air. People had travelled from all over the world to dance with their friends, share a drink with loved ones and party beneath the glow of the moon. In El Rio everything was free, life was easy and liberation was on the cards. In the winter months this place would be quiet and lonely but for now it boomed and banged louder than ever before. 

Kid Simius is set to release a new EP on Jirafa Records, a club focussed, heady fun filled affair complete with a killer remix from Fort Romeau. This one will sounds great on the big systems.

Chromeo return with a special edition of their new single, 'Hot Mess,' featuring a vocal collaboration with La Roux's Elly Jackson. Meanwhile, Djedjotronic - one of the rising stars in the Boysnoize camp - delivers two stripped-down party jackers, while Riva Starr takes things down to Electronic Boulevard with a lovingly funky homage to Eddy Grant.
