Rounding out the summer season, Tash's Movement Recordings welcomes Alan Cerra to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Argentina, Alan has been touted as one of the progressive scene's most promising talents. Although still a relative newcomer with 2019 marking his arrival, Alan has already turned heads with his groovy progressive sound. Genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Miss Monique, Tim Green and more have been steadfast supporters along the way, while Juicebox Music, Higher States, Hoomidaas and Siona Records have served as landing spots for some of Alan's most highly regarded work. Now adding Movement Recordings to his resume, Alan debuts on the label with a three-track showcase entitled 'Space Dive'.


Moving forward to selection two Alan continues his dancefloor minded approach with 'Blue Magpie'. Landing with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship, the Argentine plants multiple explosions of serotonin through hopeful overlays, clustered effects and disorientating projections. Clever co-actions make for a break that is both dynamic and tense, flowing through flickering percussion and pyrotechnic effects, before confidently returning to the groove for a sweeping aerial finale.

Sound Avenue enters 2022's fourth quarter with a new single from label boss Madloch and frequent studio partner Subnode. Now eclipsing four years in their creative partnership, the Belgian duo wrapped up a successful 2021 with ‘Utopia'. Praised by Eelke Kleijn, Laurent Garnier and Nick Warren, the elusive creation set the stage for ‘Bariloche'. Released in April alongside remixes from Jean Caillou and Fabian Balino, its dubbed out tones and hypno-rhythms earned the support of Nick Warren, Nicole Moudaber, Sasha and more. Now, fresh off delivering the inaugural release for new Belgian imprint Protoplanetary Records, Madloch and Subnode continue to flex their creative muscles with a return to Sound Avenue entitled ‘Journey to the Unknown'.

Following Rashid Ajami's sensational debut on TOR with the Never Knew EP last year, we're thrilled to welcome him to XYZ alongside the always-delightful Italian duo Madraas, who've graced the likes of Tale & Tone and Futurescope in recent months. Through work with the likes of Maya Jane Coles, Booka Shade, and Atjazz, Ajami has built a sterling reputation with releases on Get Physical, Einmusika, Anjunadeep, and Tale & Tone.

For their first original collaboration, Rashid & Madraas come together on the sensational 'Love Is Animal' EP. The A-side ignites the groove, as a sub-laden bassline rises & falls under crisp drum rhythms. The melodic piano hook comes alive alongside a blissful vocal performance, with a lush build creating magical dancefloor moments.

On the flip, 'The New Word' harnesses classical flavors and somber tones, stirring us into a melancholic flow in the early stages. Vocal chops remain distant and hazy as strings and pianos balance each other, allowing synthetic stabs to swirl. A blissful B-side from the UK x Italy connection.

'Yoshitoshi welcomes Darksidevinyl to the roster with two killer cuts...
Although he’s been producing for over 20 years, Darksidevinyl is a man who has really come into his own in 2022. Recent releases have seen him touch down at Wired, Connected, MoBlack, Nitegrooves and Selador; the latter release, ‘Plastic Dream’, picking-up the ‘cover’ on Spotify’s coveted Electronic Rising playlist.
His style is unique, fusing Afro-influences with house, all wrapped in a blanket of deep warmth, as Red Face, the lead on this AA side, demonstrates. But the track doesn’t stop there in its multi-cultural influences as it also infuses a sultry vox and Latin rhythms. “The idea came to me in a cafe,” explains DSV, “I was sat having a coffee when this track came on in the background and the idea flowed from there. It’s funny how inspiration can strike at any given place or moment!”
Meanwhile, Black Shine takes an instrumental path, and looks to a soaring string arrangement, which is almost Bond-esque in style and feel. If ever a dance track deserved a Maurice Binder / 007 credit sequence, this is it! The emotive, soundtrack feel was entirely deliberate though, as DSV continues to explain, “It really was written and produced for people who love that feeling of pure emotion on the dancefloor; the essence of that moment when the hairs stand-up on your arms, neck or both!”'

Hicky & Kalo are back on their own label Plaisirs Sonores Records with a brand new two-track EP as well as a brand new artwork design for their imprint.

The title track 'Arch Of Light' is a massive track with driving drums, a rolling bassline, an emotive pad melody and a great arpeggiator. The Canadian duo tries to open the progressive house field by blending some melodic techno and electro elements into the track like the use of vocoder vocals and epic synth stabs.

The second offering 'Time We Spent Together' is an ode to remembering "the time you spent with someone that no long is part of your live". It was made during sad time for the duo and you can feel the melancholia and sadness in the melody.

All in all, it's a beautiful EP for the upcoming duo.

His version is a Progressive House piece that shows the peculiar style of this artist, music with a lot of melodic and percussive elements, that make an sci-fi oneiric journey that can be danced in equal parts between body and mind.

Leading the line is a Romanian-bred collaborative project between Bross and VICTHOR. Rich drum rhythms greet a delightful piano melody, as Piece, Peace sets us on our way with a truly beautiful offering.

The Turkish maestro Gadi Mitrani debuts on XYZ with Robot With a Heart. Synthetic tones enter the fold over a hearty hook, igniting the groove on this pearl of a production.

We revisit Erdi Irmak’s instant classic, I Can Find, with a freshly squeezed remix from Montreal’s own Oiseau de nuit & Laure. With a lifelong bond rooted in a shared love of music, this brother-sister pairing brings an after-hour tilt, opening space for rich melancholy.

As a new dawn arrives, we’re thrilled to welcome back Quebec’s Monarke to XYZ. There’s Still Time fosters a progressive sizzler, with swirling soundscapes pushing us deep into the solar system.

Canada’s Tyler Mesa returns to the imprint with a heady heater, showcasing his range and innovation in the studio. Serene Dream is all about the synthetic hook, which ebbs & flows perfectly over a masterful melody. A soon-to-be club classic from Mesa to kick off the year.

Closing out our third edition of Blanche is our beloved Brazileiro - Maty Owl - who provides an instrumental version of his recent remix for Erdi Irmak. Keep ears tuned, as we have lots more Maty Owl material coming in the near future!
