The 7th chapter in the Aterral saga sees the label's mastermind @carlothings hook up with kindred spirit @a_baloo, Saudi Arabia's advocate of groove and real keeping believer in all things House. The showcased material on this EP is the result of a mutual session in Carlo's Berlin studio from the end of 2020 and it's a manifest of two dedicated devotees to the genre being on the same page. Things kick off with "Graduate", an irresistible finger snapping feelgood tune with a Dub flavour, riding on a thick and funky bassline, dispersing into echo every now and then.

Oliver Dollar debuts on Rekids with disco-fuelled three tracker, ‘Strings for Life’ EP. 

Initially appearing on Rekids as a remixer in 2012, Berlin-based Oliver Dollar returns to Radio Slave’s imprint with the Spring-time funk of his ‘Strings for Life’ EP this April. 

The rich, stiring strings of the title track open ‘Strings for Life’ with real soul. Warm, euphoric and built atop a rocksteady discoid groove, it’s a track that’s familiar, new and classic all at the same time. ‘School Daze’ follows with rhythmic shakers, funk-infused chopped guitar and bass licks while nifty vocal samples and cosseting chords provide the hooks. Closing out is ‘Sophisticated Funk’ which sees Dollar double down on the disco with an epic, emotive beatdown. 

With releases from Radio Slave, Eddie Fowlkes, Cromby, Dave Angel, Star B and Alinka on Rekids in recent months, Matt Edward’s imprint is as fresh as ever and Oliver Dollar’s ‘Strings of Life’ EP joins the catalog in fine style.

These two creative minds have lately gained the support of industry giants such as David Guetta, Solomun, ARTBAT, Gioli & Assia, Adriatique, Fideles, Joris Voorn, Maceo Plex, Massano, Kevin De Vries, Argy and many more. Their dedication to their craft, innovative sound make them push the boundaries of electronic music and 'Instinct' is the perfect reflect of their vision, with a nice dancefloor approach, moody samples and an overall Indie Dance atmosphere. Co-produced with Cosmosolar, this track is a very catchy one. On the remixes, MILLA LOU & Cafius perfectly complete the EP, each with their own style. Regularly supported by Solomun, Cafius goes for a fat Indie Dance beats, adding a strong synth hook for the build up, while MILLA LOU delivers a darker and hypnotic melodic house rework.
