Öona Dahl delivers her debut EP on Watergate, continuing her fruitful partnership with Dance Spirit along the way.

Last year’s memorable WhoMadeWho compilation saw Öona Dahl drop her first musical contribution on Watergate, collaborating with Dance Spirit for ‘Break The Stillness’, one of the highlights of the mix. The New York producer, DJ and sound designer, has cultivated a curious and evocative sound going back almost a decade, releasing quality cuts on Anjunadeep, Hallucienda (home to her 2017 album ‘Hollograma’) and All Day I Dream, where she has become a regular at Lee Burridge’s iconic party series.

‘Godtripper’ is a transcendental trip through psychedelic house tones, elevated by Dahl’s own breathy vocal and subtle swells of acid and a smooth melody line. Patrice Bäumel adds a delicious re-work built around a superb bass melody that builds to a crescendo, as layer-upon-layer reveals itself throughout. Dahl links with Dance Spirit for ‘Manic Space’, led by a delicate layer of tribal drums and a meandering melody line, crafted for sundown moments. ‘Universe Within You’ is one for the after hours, wrapped in a minimal shell it unfurls gradually into a glowing late morning house gem, resplendent in golden synths and groovy drums.

The sun sets its orange glow of dusk over a flock of seagulls in the warm breezy summer air, sending warmth and energy across the horizon. A collection of elegant flowers blossom with textures of gentle euphoria, enhancing movements with rich percussive soundscapes. "Interlude" is a London based Electronic Music label. Founded eternally in 2019. A creative outlet aimed to explore electronic music in some of its most unique forms, not so much club orientated, neither specifically ambient nor downtempo, but something of an Interlude between. Releasing Deep, Organic sounds with an emotional touch. Connecting new or up and coming music makers from around the world.
For this remix we have “Fluida” who consist of friends Graham and Jake, an emerging UK based music duo, typically performing live on a Hang Drum in their DJ sets. Traversing between headphone listening and euphoric dance floor journeys, Fluida’s music manages to be both club friendly and intimate. The result is a breadth of sound that connects deeply with people both in the early evening and at those special moments in the early hours of the morning.
