Would it be possible to imagine Cornucopia's take on The Great Escape by Volen Sentir and Tantum's vision of Loco Motif by Kasper Koman? No! However, the release speaks for itself. The two masterpieces have an otherworldly attitude surpassing the unwritten rules of music classifications and satisfying the emotional needs of the global audience. Throughout over fifteen minutes of pure brilliance, the material delivers temperament, excellence, and elegant futuristic audio concepts.

Madloch's Sound Avenue rounds out the month of July by welcoming Forty Cats back to the label for her debut EP. With well over a decade's worth of DJ experience, Russian artist Christina Gavrilova aka Forty Cats has been a fixture of her country's nightlife, sharing the stage with Jody Wisternoff, Nick Warren, Yotto, Dave Seaman and more. Christina's production debut landed three years ago via 8bit Music, and in relatively short order the Russian artist has gone on to release projects via Lane 8's This Never Happened, Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Mango Alley. Also finding a home on Sound Avenue, Forty Cats opened the year with a remix of 'Dreaming Home' by Eric Lune, before going on to re-imagine Nopi's 'Hookan Idyll' a few short months later. Now as we enter the year's third quarter, Forty Cats returns to Sound Avenue with her first EP project entitled 'Forest Beast', alongside remixes from Berni Turletti and Weird Sounding Dude.

Providing the first remix of 'Forest Beast' is Berni Turletti who makes his label debut. Perhaps best known for his releases on Or Two Strangers, Higher States, Sudbeat Music and The Soundgarden, Berni Turletti brings a unique energy and perspective to progressive music. With the backing of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren, the Argentinean artist has been tipped as one of the genre's future stars. With a 2021 highlighted by projects for Droid9, Plattenbank and Mango Alley, the Cordoba resident now adds Sound Avenue to his resume with a gorgeous rendition of 'Forest Beast'. Berni sustains an understated yet confident club energy, reshaping the groove into a funk-fuelled delight, while creamy piano's fade in and out of coherence against a backdrop of evolving textures and enlightening vocal fragments. Looking to bring further emotion to the narrative, the main break melts down to an array of incandescent melodies, planting gentle splashes of serotonin across the one-minute interlude, before ultimately giving way to a soothing finale.

B2B series is back with fresh young emerging talents Alberto Hernandez (MX) from Mexico and Peve from Brazil, between the both of them they had released in labels  All Day I Dream, Hoomidaas and Akbal Music.

The first track by Alberto Hernandez ( MX) is a rollin groover with mystic trippie elements and cinematic pads creating an interesting journey thru the track.

The second track by Peve is a more middle set vibe tune filled with plucky synths and fat sounds, filled with a more melodic structure but very effective groove , its a great banger for high energy moments.

Both tracks are road tested with really nice positive feedback, hope you listen & enjoy !

GMJ joins fellow Australian Jamie Stevens for an exceptional two-track EP that should appeal to a wide-ranging slice of dance music fans. If you're after a mature electronic music release that knows how to hit the emotional core then you will be in for an absolute treat.

On 'Becoming', we are presented with a masterclass in progressive house. The bass bellows and rumbles deep, working so well alongside the percussion and kick that you would be happy with just that. However, the melancholic key stabs, put oh-so-slightly through the fx ringer, and the smooth breakdown elevates this into an absolute must-have for any respectable main room.

It's a swirl of melodies, percolating percussion and automated stabs that lock the 'Force of Nature' groove. But, it's the slightly discordant synths that take centre stage - and during the breakdown a slight FM vocal appears before you're pulled back into the full therapeutic vortex of 'Force of Nature'.

The Malta-based label Lost & Found brings over 20 minutes of exciting material by one of the label’s bestselling artists, Khen. The three-track release delivers ideal music for clubs with robust sound systems. The opening track is Khen’s collaboration with Shahaf Efrat, best known for his renowned Psy-Trance project Freedom Fighters. Khen and Shahaf successfully fuze together the authentic sound containing hypnotic elements, percussions, and modulated background noises. The tandem leads a spiritual take on underground dance music, pushing the boundaries of genres and making a statement in the world of audio production. The second track, Angel׳s Share, is Khen's solo creation taking an arpeggio trip down the melodic mysticism. The final piece, Cumulus, displays Khen's exceptional arrangement skills. It fuses broken beats and epic melodies and represents a masterful ending to a masterful release.

'A talented and prolific artist, Nōpi returns to Meanwhile with a second original EP in the shape of the 3-track masterpiece, “Stri;la”.

A rising Ukrainian star in the underground dance firmament, Nōpi has featured in the upper echelons of the Progressive and Organic House charts with a plethora of tracks signed to finest modern imprints. Replug, When We Dip XYZ and Anjunadeep have all played host to his distinctive and mellifluous tones, while Meanwhile also saw Nōpi release a twin-track offering of the highest order in January 2021 with his “Spoon Light” EP.

The “Stri;la” title track immediately excites with its powerful rhythmic backdrop and driving beat. A running bassline soon adds to the overall urgency while trademark atmospheric keys float over the mid-range in unhurried fashion. The juxtaposition between free-flowing melodies and rapid-fire percussion creates a delicious tension, before a glorious breakdown displays a wealth of textures, effects and atmospheres. Building into a rousing crescendo, the final movement explodes into life with a cascading array of harmonies and dynamic dancefloor prowess.

Continuing the powerful rhythmic force, “Stay” combines chest-thumping kick and ticking percussive groove, while underwater effects and mesmerising looped motif create a filtered sequence that resonates with tape delay and panned ambient effects. Bearing all the hallmarks of The Future Sound of London during their “Dead Cities” era, Nōpi has successfully captured an iconic sound while simultaneously advancing it into the modern progressive zeitgeist with a plethora of attendant organic house influences and multi-faceted aural tapestry. The resultant piece is as distinctive as it is ingenious and sonically rewarding, both in club and solo listener environments.

The final track sees the deeper vibe of “My Prophet World” take centre stage. Playing host to a filtered bassline cadence and pulsating white-noise pads infused with delays, an evocative melody gradually emerges to sit perfectly atop the classy dancefloor backdrop. Over its 8-minute voyage an interwoven tapestry of pitched and delayed motifs fold over each other in coruscating patterns. Full of dancefloor know-how and immaculate production technique, the track waxes and wanes with typical ease, hitting its mark at the 5-minute point where a magical pause provides the perfect vehicle for Nōpi’s delightful melodic groove to take centre stage once more.

Able to paint a unique sonic picture with a canvas full of iridescent colour and vivid texture, Nōpi hits the heights once more with his “Stri;la” triptych.'
