Following his uplifting 2015 single Holdin On and its techy B-side Faces, Rony Seikaly is back for another release on Yoshitoshi that proves this renaissance man is a force to be reckoned with in modern house music. The two tracks on this EP possess deep grooves, but also flex a fair amount of melodic muscle. They liken back to the sound Yoshitoshi became well known for in its infancy. The Sword centers around some tribal percussion and carefully woven melodic ideas, but the tracks focus is decidedly on low end. A burly, assertive bass gives the mix a driving character suited for late nights. At time it feels like a modern take on progressive house from another era. All Of A Sudden is more or less an extension of the first track, giving the EP defined consistency. Its a delicately arranged and straightforward house feeler; the meat coming from a multitude of interlaced chords and melodies maneuvering carefully over more tribal percussion and a monstrous kick. The mission here is to inspire awe and wonder in dancers, and Seikaly delivers on both accounts.

Parker + Barrow (@weareparkerandbarrow) is a production and live performance duo comprised of Swedish native and former Forever Kid member, Joakim Bjarke, and Los Angeles born and bred video artist and former turntablist, Caity Croft.

The duo has played festivals such as Burning Man and EDC and held several residencies around LA. After spending over a year in the studio producing full-time, the duo has created several EP/LPs worth of music ready for release. In each of their original productions, the duo aims to conjure a specific moment - in time, place, texture, and/or feeling- and makes a point of not sticking to a specific genre in their effort to do so.

This years first podcast needed a bit more time than expected, though i guess the time was worth to wait. I got 5 songs of mine in this, 4 of them unreleased and a special live version of Calendula which i originally produced with Microtrauma. Also in here is the premiere of the upcoming main track "Sail" taken from the next Klangwelt release by 1979 and the premiere of We are all Astronauts "This Too Shall Pass". It is the return of Fabian Braunbeck for the mighty O*RS label. This strong four tracker already states it in the title: "Not Just Play Music" is not only for the dance floor itself. And Braunbeck is not playing around here.

The Berlin boy has constructed 4 tracks of pure listening and body moving pleasure. Cutting the shit right from the start with this wild spheric tribal vibes and a heavy bass line on the main track, surroundet by drums n cowbells and this reminding vocal cut. 
Followed by 10 minutes of out tripping and "Approaching Planet Future“. On the flip guest vocalist „Two Hands“ is giving a lecture how to encounter somebody highlighted by Braunbecks drum and bass catalogue. 
Finishing the EP with a proper stomp and the question why is he looking so "Far Away“.
