By convention, sweet is sweet, bitter is bitter, hot is hot, cold is cold, colour is colour; but in truth there are only atoms and the void. So it goes.

Our fourteenth chapter sees label co-founders Sam Pauli (@sampaulimusic) & Paul Nolan (@paul-nolan) continue their collaboration with Atoms. Witness the reaction that occurs when these two electrifying artists enter the same creative orbit. Joining them on this release are talents Miyagi (@miyagi) and Danny Oliveira (@dnyo), for a stellar body of material.

Pauli and Nolan are at their best on Atoms, delivering a wonderful piece of electronic music. The Instrumental Edition is all glistening arpeggios and cosmic pads; whilst these fuse with the soaring vocals of fellow Chapter 24 artist Reiver (@noelhunwick-reiver) on the Original.

The nature of atoms lies far below our powers of observation. Since atoms cannot be seen, their movements, too, escape us. As atoms travel through the void, they swerve from their course. Were it not so, they would remain forever isolated, and never meet to form the complexity of the universe. 

There are only atoms and the void. So it goes. 

But hold a mirror up to the void and you will discover that it is by no means empty nothingness. It contains particles of light which flicker in and out of existence.

We are extremely happy to welcome our house friend, Edgar Peng! 
You might recognise him through some of his various projects like Turmspringer, RAS or Robert Galic. As part of the Berlin underground scene for the past 2 decades, people can clearly see his afro house, hip hop and nu-jazz influence on this great ep: You.

YOU is the 1st cut of the ep. The track has a hypnotic feel all around with clear stabs and chords that follow an endless conversation between each other, round fx, and a sharp hi hat. Later the ride uplifts the entire meaning of the song. The fat sub bass glues it all together in a marvelous way.
This can easily fit into a classic Berlin after hours making it memorable & epic.

On the other hand, LOS CABRA delivers an extremely interesting remix from YOU. This Argentinian duo (formed by Christ Burstein and Manuel Sahagun) received international attention after their releases on the BAR 25, RKJVK, and GOLDEN GATE. They imprint their afro vibe, a playful bass strung together with different textures. Some Moog sounds & percussion creates an incredible atmosphere offering an almost offbeat groove. It also offers spaced out vocal cuts that give this number a unique sound.


Last but not least, NYX! This is the moment that you should open the old cognac, put on that old red silk coat, and start enjoying. Every sound is where it should be: a soft pad, gentle cowbell, and pitched strings. This long stab shows the way to this intrepid track. The retro vibe is everywhere! NYX is one of those fine deep tracks that is rare to find. The percussion on top is light and kept under control.

Why do we tell stories? 
We breathe, we eat, we sleep. We seek connection. These are our basic human needs. But there is one more need we all share, and it centres on stories. All across the world, stories are being recounted everywhere, in every imaginable way, at any given time. For telling stories is at the very essence of what it is to be human. The universe of stories can be broken down into seven basic plots which underlie all stories ever told. Recognising these patterns is the gateway to unravelling the universal symbolic language from which all storytelling is spun. With ‘Tragedia', Chapter 24 returns with seven stories in sound collected from artists all across the world to bring these themes to life. There is much to laud here. Swiss Stil vor Talent heavyweight Several Definitions kicks things off with the afro-house of ‘Roots’ while Stevie R collaborates with vocalist Djanan Turan and violinist Master Dani on the huge ‘Misirlu (Acid Version)’, ahead of his soon-to-be-released debut album. The impactful opening trio is completed by ‘Mubaraq’, which marks the debut of Argentinian artists Brigado Crew and Crisstiano on Chapter 24, following their contributions to the Diynamic and Jeudi labels. Hungarian Sobek adds to the package with the tense and powerful ‘Croco In The Marsh’. Then ESP Institute, Futureboogie and Culprit artist and hero of We Love…Space Ian Blevins offers ‘Tuesday’s Child’, a driving and melodic cut that paves the way for the breaks and synth workout of label co-founder Sam Pauli’s ‘Sleeper’.Finally, Los Angeles-based Rinzen ends this wide-ranging compilation with ’Temple’, a forward-thinking widescreen progressive techno piece with the perfect emotional lift to close things out.They say that there are only seven basic plots but a thousand different stories. And so, as the storyteller utters that age old, magical phrase "Once upon a time...", let yourself be carried away...

Hitting your 21st is always a cause for celebration. Here at ATLANT we never need an excuse to party, especially when music is this good as we welcome one of our favourite producers MULYA to the family.

MULYA is one of those artists that is very selective on output, instead focusing on making music of the highest quality, gracing the likes of Monaberry and MoBlack along the way. As always, ATLANT likes to explore world, so we are very proud to present our first visit to Hungary for your listening pleasure.

An ominous rumble signals lead track 'Cyclone' as the dramatic edgy bass-line focuses your attention, getting ever more insistent. Dynamics increase with each bar, as whirring swirling sounds fill the room. The intensity rises, creeping up before latching onto you as a wailing voice cries out .. trapped by inward spiralling layers of synths, arps and thunderous beats. All creating a cacophony of intense pressure.

Sharing equal billing 'Romeo' treads a dance-floor minded 4/4 path. Thumping thrashing percussives deliver a sense of urgency, before the tripped out high pitched synth theme of Romeo wins your heart and twists your mind. An early breakdown heightens the atmosphere before the full force of Romeo is unleashed on the room. DJs, please handle this one responsibly.

MULYA's EP went straight for road testing by head honcho BOg during his recent visit to Harry Klein in Munich. Signing this pair of tracks was one of the easiest decisions we've had to make. The music here is hot off the press, fresh from mastering, and ready for our ATLANT family to enjoy. #WEARE[ATLANT]
