The 27nd Podcast is made by Steffen Kirchhoff (Berlin / Germany).

Steffen is a musician throughout. At an early age he learned to play the
guitar and performed in his school band. Later, he came in contact with
electronic music, which led to the first steps in producing his own
music on the computer and performing short live sets. During his years
at university, he became friends with Christian Löffler who deeply
influenced and inspired him to find his own unique style of deep
electronic soulful music. After a year with no music production at all,
Steffen has now phoenixed in 2016 to reach a whole new level of deepness
and spirituality in his compositions. His tracks contain organic and
spiritual elements like shaman drums, holy chants and field recordings
that reflect the beauty of nature. He enjoys playing DJ-Sets as much as
his own Live-Sets. Lately he started focusing on working together with
shamans and healers and supports them at workshops, rituals and
healing-sessions with his Sound. He cuurently explores the freedom and
abunDance and challenges of a nomadic live-style since he decided to
only act on his highest excitement which is music and spirituality and
so he always tries to listen to his heart , follow his intuition and to
go with the flow which leads him to travel a lot and meeting many great
artists to be inspired by and to collaborate with.

I was born in the mountains of the north east of France but I live today in the sun of Toulouse. I have two great passions in life: nature (specialized in botany, Cardamine pratensis is the first plant I have determined) and good electronic music. Since one year I try to mix by chaining tracks with my ears and virtual dj. Music allows me to trip into a wonderful world.

The whole melodic-technoid thing might be well established already. However, believe it or not: Seth Schwarz and Westerby take it to a yet another level. Their track Aphelion has truly symphonic dimensions and opens a hidden bonus stage in the heads of the dancefloor. Here you can easily lose yourself in a morphing maze of kaleidoscopic patterns that is the multi-layered flow of the melody. Excellent fuel for collective high-altitude flights. NordFold & Budakid provide a remix for all those who prefer it a bit more minimalist, whereas Mollono.Bass lives up to his signature style and pushes Aphelion a notch further towards boost and pressure.

Das melodisch-technoide Ding mag sich bereits bestens bewährt haben. Aber, so unglaublich es auch klingt: Seth Schwarz und Westerby heben es hier nochmal auf ein ganz neues Niveau. Mit Aphelion stoßen die beiden in symphonisch-technoide Dimensionen vor und öffnen dabei in den Köpfen der Tanzfläche ein verstecktes Bonus-Level. Melodic maestro French-Canadian producer @gabrhome and the versatile @evrenfurtuna use their different cultural backgrounds to create an evocative, watery melodic exploration named after that traveller in two worlds, the salmon, swimming now against, now with the current, in waters both sweet and salt. ‘Salmo Salar’ has a sizzling summer touch. Its intro blends mingling mood-inducing chords in voices and strings, taking us underwater before a light but determined beat kicks in, spangled with piano arpeggios and snatches of melody as the spiritual vocals continue to evoke a watery vibe. The sustained breakdown surprises with a new clarinet tune, almost middle eastern, marking a shift of phase, after which a freer, jazzy feel predominates. ‘Salmo Salar’ launches on Saisons on July 10.
