New York native Öona Dahl and Argentinian producer Giddyhead have teamed up for their compelling Anjunadeep debut ‘Baba’. With a hat-heavy groove and a rich mix of rolling tribal toms, ‘Baba’ is an exotic exploration of the deep sound. German duo Monkey Safari make a rare step away from their own Hommage label for a stunning debut on Get Physical Music.

For the best part of the last decade now, Lars Rühlemann and Sven Fröhlich aka Monkey Safari have been serving up a quirky and curious take on house music that has brought real character to the dance floor. They have put out three absorbing full lengths as well as almost thirty EPs, and have made their Hommage label a vital one in the process. Here they open their debut with the excellent ‘Mantra,’ a propulsive house track with humid, jungle-like atmospheres, woodblock hits and elastic bass that really builds the pressure. It’s a warm and absorbing affair brimming with charm. 

Today's premiere, the hypnotic ‘Tollo’, then establishes another enchanting groove, this time with spoken word vocals intoxicating you further as the rubbery drums and soft, fat hits get you deeper into the groove.

This is perfect late night dance music for intimate parties and escapist
experiences.

Disarming chord progressions, a gradual sense of release and hope and a spoken word sample that will bring many to tears, 'Safe' is one of Monkey Safari's most thoughtful and well-executed tracks to date.

'Just a few months ago, when our lives had not been upside-down yet, we produced 'Safe' as a message of unity, hope, and love. Just a normal day in the studio. But now, in these days of social isolation, it seems 'Safe' represents exactly our feelings when we look at the empty world outside.
