Jamie Jones’ Hottrax readies their brand-new Various Artists EP series 'Tripleution', set to feature long-time Hottrax affiliates and brand new artists alike, adding to a discography that already boasts the likes of Patrick Topping, East End Dubs, Yousef, and many more alongside Jamie Jones himself. Landing this September, the first part of ‘Tripleution’ features Qubiko & Denis Ago, TacoMan and Sound Process, giving an essential look into the label’s high-quality catalogue. 

Italian duo Qubiko & Denis Ago deliver a mixture of house and minimal styles for their cut 'Danzer', with deep layers of sub-bass penetrating its percussive hooks. 'Arriba Abajo' sees TacoMan, a previous Hottrax visitor, build this futuristic track around revving synth levels and patches of grooving beats. Lastly, Sound Process comes with 'Dizzy Nights', pushing through distorted, dreamlike vocals which merge with an unrelenting, weighty bassline, leaving the EP with a continuing impact. 

‘Hottrax presents Tripleution Part 1’ lands on 1st September 2023.

Premiere: Supernova - More Than Just A Record [Bamboleo Records]

'Florence-based producers Lorenzo Spano and Markyno drop ‘The King’ on Adesso Music

Lorenzo Spano, seasoned Italian producer and DJ, has established his NY and Chicago-inspired take on house through releases on Defected, Nervous and Glasgow Underground. ‘The King’ sees him collaborate with fellow Florence-based talent, Markyno, with whom he has already joined forces this year for a run of excellent EPs out via Motive, Blockhead and PHXBLK. This run continues on Adesso Music with their latest EP.

Punchy drums, a funk-fulled bassline, wildly swung percussion and sleazy vocals all combine to maximum effect on ‘The King’, creating an irresistible groove to send heads nodding. The arrangement is kept minimal, ensuring an emphasis on groove and making this the perfect selection to get the dancefloor locked in.

This is an excellent release from Lorenzo Spano and Markyno, marking them out as a duo to watch.'

With his debut release on the esteemed Seven Villas record label, Fiordland humbly aims to make his mark on the electronic music scene. Notably, he also released two originals at the end of last year on our 3rd Avenue label as part of the Three Of A Kind EP. For the remixes, we have enlisted the talents of Luis Del Vecchio, Seycel, Manuelo, and Charly DG.
