Premiere: Last Nubian - Farewell Boogie ft. Dougan Jr [Nómada]

The mix series and music platform Mantissa takes its first steps into the label space with Mantissa 001. Written and produced by a close friend to the Mantissa family, this unnamed and elusive artist has helped us launch the label with a bang with three club focused, space inspired tracks designed to decimate a dancefloor or atone for a night's shenanigans at an after's.    

Space Cadet opens the extraterrestrial affair, weaving from acoustic elements to electronic and eclectic synth lines. The A side ends with Frozen Bounce, a wobbly number, woven together with quick cuts and jerky elements. U10A, the most structured of a complex affair is a warming club tool perfect for both, beginning and finishing an evening. 'With the reopening of clubs and festivals, Avidus present their debut EP for Oddity, loaded with tracks ready for the dancefloor.

The lead track, 'Prometheus', is a weapon for the peak time of the set. Full of catchy groove, a synth hook that characterizes their productions, which slowly adds tension to the construction of the track, leading into a break full of melodies and chords that will give you goosebumps.

The second cut, 'Clavigo', is characterized by a melody that resembles an arpeggio, throughout the whole track, with darker stab sounds appearing and complementing the development of this one.The pads and chords that characterize Avidus appear during the break, filling us with emotions throughout the rest of the track.

'Wanderer's Nightsong' is the next one, where the identity of Avidus is reflected instantly from the first play. For the remix duties, the French brothers, Betical, approach reworking 'Wanderer's Nightsong' into a breaks track. Using elements of the original, reworking it into their own version and adding new synths and elements that create a beautiful remix.'

The Planisphere of Dendera is one of the oldest astronomical messages left on the humanity by ancient Egyptian priests. Also known as the Dendera Zodiac or the Zodiac of Osiris (as it was dedicated to Osiris) and was located in the temple complex of Hathor in Dendera, a small town on the nile, close to Luxor.
The Dendera Zodiac is an ancient astronomical map which contains all the information needed to calculate the movement of Earth from one zodiac sign to another for approximately 30000 years, which corresponds to the axial precession cycle.
The ancient Egyptians knew well the secrets of precession and the basis of their calculations is the great year – 25,920 years. One astrological era is equal to 1/12 of the precession of Earth’s axis and corresponds to 2160 years.
The celestial arch is represented by a disc held up by four pillars of the sky in the form of women, between which are inserted falcon-headed spirits.
The four pairs of figures represent the cardinal points, while all twelve figures indicate the months. In the inner circle, the main fixed stars are shown for orientation, and the circle is divided into 36 deans, each resulting in an Egyptian week of ten days.
In this way the stars were observed and recorded over thousands of years, with incredible precision. These are known to us today as constellations, each one has its place in the sky and can be observed at a certain time. If you take a look towards the southern hemisphere you might see the following constellations…
