Zurich's King Ben brings some smooth and sophisticated house sounds to two new tracks on Kindisch.

At one time, Ben was Switzerland's youngest DJ having secured a gig at the legendary Sputnik Radio aged just 13. From there he has developed his own signature deep house sound, rich in melody and with plenty of fresh grooves. He has promoted numerous parties back home and held residencies in places like Silo and Zoo Club. He has landed on the likes of WAYU, Bar 25 and this label before now and makes a welcome return to kick off his 2022.

Up first is the stylish 'Un Verre De Rosé,' an eight-minute symphony of cuddly synth work and wispy chords. Wordless vocal coos deepen the mood and daubs of melodic colour rise and fall like lava in a lamp. Add in the soft and seductive grooves and you have a brilliantly hypnotic track.

'Autumn Leaves' is just as exquisitely designed but with a more brooding mood. The drums stand taller, with rubbery synth sequences rising up and down the mix next to melancholic pads. There are deft details all around, from the subtle vocal wails to the woodblock hits via the warming sub-bass.

'Un Verre De Rosé' proves Ben is a master of escapist house music for quiet hours and cosy dance floors.

There are two original tracks on this release that include the collaboration, plus a solo production by Cereus. Both of the original artists are from Denver, USA and Revibe is an emerging talent making his debut with this stunning release.

Cereus is making his debut on Baikal Nomads following an exquisite debut on the Suprematic record label where he showcased his downtempo blend of ethereal atmosphere and enchanting melodies.

On remix duty, Veytik is an American artist from New York whose mystical tracks have been released on respected organic house record labels ranging from Harabe to Cafe De Anatolia.

Alex Doering is a Baikal Nomads regular who provides a spine-tingling remix in the style that he has featured on other imprints such as Kosa, The Purr and trndmsk.

The last of the remixes comes from Timboletti, a renowned German artist who has been pioneering organic house since the genre's inception and has an impressive back catalogue including music on Sol Selectas, Kindisch, Do Not Sit, 3000 Grad Records and Stil Vor Talent.

"Kula" is the collaborative original and it opens the release with rattling organic percussion and majestic pads that create an uplifting atmosphere with a soothing vibe.

"Chandra" is the solo original by Cereus and it's a spellbinding track with sweeping synths and pulsating rhythms that are cut by rushes of sparkling melody and it unfolds with building tension.

Veytik's remix of "Kula" drops the tempo and adds vocal chants that give the track an indigenous vibe full of psychedelic and shamanistic vibes.

Timboletti's remix of "Kula" adds trippy synths with techy undertones that lead into the soothing synths of the original as the track moves towards the spiralling textures of the breakdown.
   
Alex Doering's remix of "Chandra" adds hallucinatory vocal textures and stabbing synth chords along with a prominent snare that helps him create a dramatic remix that lifts the energy of the original.

Madloch’s Sound Avenue imprint continues a fruitful year welcoming Joe Miller to the label for his debut EP. A firmly recognized name in the electronic underground, the Melbourne resident lays claim to releases on All Day I Dream, Dream Culture, Magician On Duty and Sag & Tre. Now making his much anticipated Sound Avenue debut, Joe presents his ‘The Last of the Great Days’ EP alongside remixes from Jamie Stevens and Jean Caillou.

Sitting in the creative space between electronica and deep house, organic is often a term aptly associated with Joe’s music. The title selection sits firmly in the latter category with its deep dulcet tones, warm bass swells and timely piano motifs. Building in waves, it's a series of haunting overlays which sits as the primary theme, perfectly blanketing tranquil arps and luminous percussion, across a concise and heartfelt six minute journey. The companion piece 'Nightjar' finds Joe exploring the electronica side of his studio repertoire. A style he's been flexing more of late, incredibly fresh and highly creative, it’s a collage of uniquely processed and wonderfully creamy tones that captivates here. All eet over a bed of broken beats and wistful atmospherics, which ultimately underpin the narrative.

In Mataka's remix, the atmospheric pad lets you float through the sky. Dreamy tickling bells are covered by a broad, open, wide sound. It triggers, lifts, it excites. Alice in Wonderland’s clock guides, the inception like dark is put against an angel’s voice kicking in. The voice is like a flower sprouting in spring after a long dark winter. Mataka’s interpretation by label honcho’s unders & Noraj Cue brings depth, it inspires and adds adventure.
