Chilean-born Francisco Allendes returns to Crosstown Rebels for the first time in six years this May. Serving up the three-track What You Do, the title number has already received global airplay via Damian Lazarus himself. Now, the full release will be made available next month and includes a remix by US-legend Harry Romero.

“What You Do is one of those tracks that happens magically on a jam and you can't really make it much better after that. I wrote it during the pandemic, so I wanted to create a weapon for when clubs would open again. Maratone came about the day after I played b2b with Matthias Tanzmann for thirteen hours, at the birthday of a friend in Ibiza. I sent both tracks to Damian and didn’t hear back from him for a few months... then I woke up to his WhatsApp message. It was a video of him playing What You Do at Space Miami and people climbing the walls of the club!” - Francisco Allendes.

A contemporary dose of four-on-the-floor house, What You Do leaves few prisoners in its wake, as rampant drum patterns converge on a heady combination of kicks, synths and irresistible vocals right the way through. There’s an infectious energy to the track, paving the way for Harry Romero’s similarly up-tempo remix. It’s feel-good, club ready dance music at its best, packed full of low-slung groove that opens neatly into the closing sequence: Maratone, a stripped-back, techy cut that bears all the hallmarks of a true Ibiza anthem.

Hailing from Chile and now based in Ibiza, Francisco Allendes is a leading light in today’s scene. Be it Loco Dice’s Desolat, Steve Lawler’s VIVA or Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, his productions have graced some of the industry’s most well-respected labels. Such quality hasn’t gone unnoticed - he picked up the ‘Best Ibiza’ DJ Award in September 2019 and has gone on to complete several South American tours. A much loved affiliate of ANTS, Francisco has a long standing residency at both Ushuaïa in Ibiza and their affiliated tours, in addition to hosting the weekly radio show.

Seminal American house talent Harry Romero is a well-established figure on the worldwide music circuit. A prominent global DJ and producer since the ‘90s, early productions on Cutting Records and Cutting Traxx helped set the tone for Harry’s career trajectory, opening the doors to a coveted BBC Radio 1 ‘Essential Mix’ in recent years.

Based in Spain and the USA respectively, both Makanan and Savi have enjoyed measurable success in their solo careers. With a combined discography that stretches the better part of two decades, the duo has showcased their groovy, percussive sounds via Selador, Stereo, Toolroom, Under No Illusion and more, while tastemaker DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Tenaglia and Mark Knight have all been steadfast supporters along the way. Now, presenting their debut collaborative project, Makanan & Savi land back on Monday Social with the exhilarating sounds of ‘No More Lies’. Robust and driving throughout; its funked up, supremely contoured groove proves to be infectious, while clattering percussive arrangements and swing heavy rhythms set the anchor for soulful vocal phrasing and balmy effects to work their magic. As a favourite of Marco Carola, Nic Fanciulli, Nicole Moudaber and Roger Sanchez, Spanish artist Gruuve makes his label debut with the first interpretation of ‘No More Lies’. The Barcelona resident re-affirms his ability to tip a dance floor over the edge with timely drum flurries, looping vocal fragments and an evolving effects narrative to send people home with a smile. Meanwhile, rounding out the release with the second and final interpretation is Gianmarco Limenta who also makes his label debut. The Italian born, Barcelona based artist complements the previous versions with a deeper, more playful take that delights with its whimsical vocal rearrange and retro tonal themes.'

Hailing from Barcelona, DJ Bassel Darwish has toured the world performing in over 30 countries so far & is now focusing on his own productions developing & delivering his own style of tech house allowing him to further share his passion for music with the world. Releases so far have come on Solid Grooves, Kaluki, Deeperfect, Revival New York, Rawsome and the list goes on. Holding down a residency with the renowned Solid Grooves alongside running his own imprint Distance Music label he’s a forced to be reckoned with. This double header EP features singles ‘Facts’ & ‘Round’ and comes with a remix package featuring Sanchez & Narvaez, Connor-S and Roots.

‘Facts’ opens up the release with its deep, down and dirty rolling grooves and driving bassline bringing the energy making us “feel good” and setting the pace for the EP. ‘Round’ continues where opener ‘Facts’ left off showcasing the producers signature style that focuses on bringing the groove to the forefront of the sound, led in equal parts by percussion and bassline, drum rolls and fills bring the anticipation to new heights as the track builds and we transport ourselves to DC-10 where we can feel this one packing out the floor at Circoloco.

Argentinian rising talents Sanchez & Narvaez kick off the remix package with their take on title track ‘Facts’ rolling through the groove making us bump to their edit with the addition of synths that bring a deeper side out in the music. This is a hot one! Joining the remix package, Connor-S, a newcomer from the UK at just 23 Years old takes a bass focused approach to track ‘Facts’ that jacks us into his world bringing unadulterated levels of energy and leaves pining for more. 

Closing this one out, ROOTS joins the party, he’s a self-confessed studio addict and beat blender with a dedication to the bass & groove that he brings to the forefront on this remix.
