The next release on NoZzo Music comes courtesy of the highly regarded Zurich-based duo, Kantarik. Well known for their driving, energetic sets, and distinctive musical palate, Kaan Tan and Ricardo Quao’s latest creation comes equipped with two original cuts and remixes from DJ Entwan and fast-rising UK duo Murphy’s Law.

Opening the EP with the title track ‘Traction’, the duo hit the ground running with a pacy roller loaded with a rhythmic cadence and subtle melodic factors. Building on a base of crisp percussion, its solid beat structure, and heavy low-frequency pulse give it a slightly tribal flavour. The track’s key emphasis on building climatic phases is closely matched by the frequent delivery of hammering drops that throw you face-first back into the groove.
 
DJ Entwan follows up with an impressive remix. The track’s almost nonchalant feel echoes that terrace tech style that has been made globally famous by the likes of Music On and its stable of artists. An enjoyable rolling track, focussing on building a constant groove with a catchy bassline, creative fills, and sampling. 

Another beefy offering from Kantraik in ‘Microlized’ taking a loosely swung line instead of the previous 4/4 structure. Rambunctious rhythm with captivating snares and another sturdy kick and sub-bass combo, making this a certified hip-swinger that was built for the peak time and packed dancefloors.

Bringing the release to a close, Murphy’s Law exhibits another firm reminder of their seemingly endless arsenal of creative ideas. Championed for their versatility, the duo's 'Feelin’Good Remix’ of ’Microlized’ features a heavy melodic focus and offers a refreshing spin on Tech House as a whole. Groovy, heavy, makes you want to move and is incomparable; again highlighting the Leicester-based artists’ innate distinctiveness.

Madrid native Dennis Cruz makes his Solid Grooves Records debut with three rumbling cuts including a remix from fellow countryman Wade.

Since his debut in 2010, Cruz has become a staple in Beatport’s charts, not to mention the sets of artists such as Marco Carola, Joseph Capriati, Nicole Moudaber, Yousef and Roger Sanchez. Throughout this time the likely producer has dropped releases on Saved, Deeperfect, Stereo Productions and Kinetika, not to mention his very own imprint Lemon-Aid Music. He now arrives on PAWSA & Michael Bibi’s Solid Grooves Records, joining the likes of Wade, Kuo Climax and Rockwell & Landers for an exciting second year for the label.

Initiating with the sound of a roaring crowd, ‘See Line’ was produced with the dancefloor in mind using thudding kicks, arcane vocal samples and an energetic rhythm. ‘Heads or Cruz’ is a more low-slung number with a focus on a killer groove, whilst ‘Bienvenido’ engages in a medley of percussive elements geared for peaktime antics. Tying the package together, Wade remixes ‘See Line’ to give it his signature twist whilst ensuring the heady vocals reiterate throughout.

￼Next up on the VIVa LIMITED is fast rising Hungarian Emery Warman. He ￼serves up a clutch of killer tracks that prove why the London based artist is such a hot property in 2016, whilst Wade turns out an on point remix.

Emery is someone who has been toiling away for many years, at first mostly on his local scene. Recent years have seen him break through to make bigger waves further afield and has been getting more and more international gigs as a result along with releasing on the likes of Deeperfect & D­-Floor. Only producing for two years, he has already had some huge tracks that have been getting heavy plays by Music On boss, Ibiza big wig and global techno pin up Marco Carola. Emery also runs his own party and event agency under the name of Beloved and now comes correct on Steve Lawler’s VIVa LIMITED.

Opener Heavy Duty Dolls is seven minutes of tantalising tech with tribal tinged drums and a rising sense of tension throughout. The infectious groove is underpinned by rich, bubbling rubber drums and loopy bass that sucks you right in. The equally excellent King Kongas is another fresh proposition with eerie atmospheres, female monologues and big drums that are slick and nimble. Playful perc and synth stabs ensure maximum impact on the floor and Wade remix strips things back into a more punchy and technoid track that is perfectly sweaty.

￼No Matter What then layers up clever effects and metallic hi hats with loopy drums and sweeping filters into an all out ￼tech assault. It’s perfectly balanced and will hook dance floors in with style. Lastly, That’s The Way is full of intricate ￼little sounds and details, whirs and claps that pepper the chunky groove with real electronic soul and atmosphere.

This is proper dancing music made with real charm and class. As such it is sure to be another big time release for both label and artist.
