Here, the techno and house duo's creation is a concoction of simmering and deeply rolling sounds resulting in a downright blazing dancefloor blitz.
 
For Beat & Path, A Figure of Speech summons the first of what will be a series of electronic mini albums that aim to capture a slice of where each label artist is creatively. 
 
"Lickity Split" delivers depth in the first instance and brings the Out Of Sorts sound right to the forefront for its entirety. Here, the contrast between the grit and grime of the gravely bottom ends are balanced with intricate, precision programming in the tops (also ushered in with the softest of strings). Combined with the haunting vocal, this is an intoxicating seven minutes that invites you to feel something from this maze of electronic complexity.'

Stay is a dynamic album with influences spanning from Acid House (Fearless), to Italo Disco (Pepper), to 90s Warp Records (Loved You). On Stay, Joseph Ashworth presents a focused and considered body of work that displays a wealth of growth from his last full-length release Grain, released in 2015.

The original intention wasn't to record a full-length album. An opportunity arose to create an AI project (AIMI) where elements of his unreleased work would be re-interpreted by machine learning to generate an ever-evolving music experience. This inspired Joseph to bring together years' worth of music for listeners interested in the cutting edge of technology, but also reminded Joseph of his love of the traditional 'album' format. So throughout 2021, and with less travel, Joseph created 10 tracks and meticulously edited and arranged them into a fluid, engaging listening experience.

Joseph comments, "Stay is the connection of ten tracks I started over the past five years. Time and patience were key in the recording process, with an aim to make each track as unique and emotionally vivid as possible".

The first track Kings, revolves around melancholy piano chords, propped up by crisp percussion and rich swells of string and synth pads - it outlines the album’s ambitious level of experimentation from the get-go. Then there’s the disco-tinged and synth-laden Fearless, while Carbonated leans towards techno; a flowing staccato synth line and a swampy, deep bass, which offers a stark contrast to the beautiful stripped back ambient track that follows, Dressed Up.

The first single to be released from the LP, Pepper breaches full club-pumper territory, with an Italo-esque synth lead, chunky, forceful kicks and a chugging bassline. Loved You features metallic chords and an alien vocal that guides the listener through a rich sonic landscape and is reminiscent of the works of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. It’s another landmark long player from one of electronic music’s most interesting talents.

Stay takes the listener on a deep and stimulating journey, and although each of the tracks could hold their own as individuals, the album as a whole is lovingly crafted, expertly sequenced and could only be achieved by an artist with a true passion for their music.

Joseph Ashworth’s highly acclaimed releases on Life & Death, Get Weird, Pets, ELEMENTS, and Needwant have helped him grow a reputable fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic, receiving support from all corners of the electronic music scene including Lee Burridge, Jonas Rathsman, DJ Tennis, Patrice Baumel, Kolsch and many more. As a performer Joseph is a unique, exciting and versatile DJ which has seen him play extended sets at the likes of CRSSD Festival and Printworks as well tours of the Far East and North America.

Just like the meandering course of a river, the sound of Mollono.Bass grows deeper and broader year after year. And just like water it has an irresistible attraction to it that makes even the most sober minds believe in magic. Now there’s the first fragments of Together, a new album, popping up at the surface of this mighty stream of creativity. It comes with melodic dreamscapes and subtle mantra-filtrations, as we can hear in To Utopia. There’s vocals that do something with our soul similar to a finger striking a guitar string, as we can feel in Dancer In The Dark. And of course there’s many, many reasons to get up and dance - like for instance the bass-heavy escapades, the grinding hi-hats, the frequent glitches in the gravitational force field and the understated hands- up-in-the-air moments of The Seekers.

Clocking in at number 319 in our catalogue, Hamburg's one and only Andy's Echo lands his debut offering for Stil vor Talent, "Haze" EP. Through three tracks connecting the dots between propulsive floor weaponry, neon-spattered 80s vibrations and future-facing synthsmithery, Andy's Echo takes us for a cosmic jaunt across hi-NRG magnetic fields and further poignant harmonic expanses. Lead-single "Haze" feat. Propellar kicks things off pedal-to-the-metal with its cascading onslaughts of blazing arpeggios, FX-coated guitar riffs and sub-bass tectonic shifts, easing us in a distinct continuum of otherworldly pop and iron-pumping electro grooves. Euphoria-inducing, oblivion-awakening material for terranean dwellers and not.

Veering off into further country-infused sonic territories at first, "See Me Fall" starts off as a slower, more downbeat ride to better harness a wilder, big-room-oriented kind of swing as bars run by. Quite possibly the perfect after-party roller, but we'll leave you judge as to the ideal setting for it to be experienced, this one has "beach sunrise" written all over it. Just saying. Adding his spin to the latter, Berlin-based vibist Yannek Maunz morphs the original into a more subdued ballad all around, trading the exuberant build-up of the matrix for a darker, more minimal headspace flush with laser-guided arps and raucous bass calls from the deep. The epitome of a clinical, no-miss DJ weapon if anything.

Some artists try to sound like others, and some artists have others sound like them. The duo, Of Norway, falls in the latter camp - over a decade of forward-thinking creations that are uniquely their own. We’re honored to have them back on Do Not Sit with their three track “Sunflower” EP.

The title track’s heavy bass is the balance to the playful horn, while the intro breakbeats clear the path for the straightforward beat midway through the song. Lovely.

Following comes “Scheffeli”, a deep and moody groover that goes and goes.

Rounding it out is “Burnt Sienna”, which takes it even deeper. Lush and opulent pieces of sound interact with the steady, bubbly bass and drums. 

These gents know how to create timeless pieces of music.

Having already appeared on Flying Circus Recordings with a killer collaboration with Maga back in 2019,
DJ & producer Nhii goes on a solo venture with his new single ‘Closer’ featuring Shrii. Remixes are
provided by Yulia Niko and Rony Seikaly, and the package is sealed off with another sweet production
from the Brookyln based German artist.
In its original mix, ‘Closer’ is a pulsing and peppy slice of mystical and engrossing dance music, lightly
dipped in reverb, and featuring a infectious vocal performance from Shrii, all delivered with the
sophistication and elegance one would expect for a Flying Circus release.
Mannheim based Yulia Niko supplies the first of the remixes of ‘Closer’. The rising DJ/producer has hugely
impressed via releases on esteemed labels like Watergate, 8Bit, Rebellion and Get Physical, and on her
remix deploys a effervescent acid line and dubby chords whilst chopping up and twisting Shrii’s vocal for a
pure transcendental workout.
Lebanese/US producer Rony Seikaly turns in the second remix on this bustling EP. Fueled by an early love
of US house music, Seikaly has gone on to forge a sound and style that has graced labels like Moon Harbour,
Voltaire Music as well as his own Stride imprint. His deep and seductive remix really works a treat here.
Closing the EP, Nhii pops in a second original production with ‘White Box’. Melodic synths bounce off a
mechanical yet funky rhythm, soft kicks and deft percussion propel this hypnotizing and graceful track, and
if a fitting finale to a stand out release on Audiofly’s established label.

An Argentinean artist with a rich musical heritage and global renown, Axel Bray has derived considerable success with his Partenaire production name. Now debuting on Particles with "Ex-Machina", remixes come courtesy of German and Brazilian artists.

A Buenos Aries native, the Partenaire name has seen Bray hit the global music stage on numerous occasions with work signed to such high-profile imprints as Clubsonica, ICONYC and Stellar Fountain. With a century of production credits to his name, high-profile support has come form a host of blue-chip tastemakers that include Nick Warren, Guy J and Eelke Kleijn with further support on Aly and Fila's Future Sound of Egypt show and fellow countryman, Hernan Cattaneo's Resident. The title track bristles with low-end dominance as a growling bassline supplies immediate melodic intonation. A ticking percussive groove and deep kick provide a club-friendly backbone while melodic phrasing comes courtesy of vocal phrasing at the mid-point and a striking arpeggio that hypnotically reveals itself throughout the third movement. Partner track, "Endangered" is again characterised by a strong and dynamic bassline that sits effortlessly against an intricate percussive groove. A delicious array of melodies emerges across the mid-range, as a hypnotic arpeggio and then a haunting lead line provide texture and depth in equal measure. The result in a darkly impressive offering.

A self-confessed "DJ and creator of melodic beats", Paul Baule is a new artist operating of Germany. From his home in the Berlin capital, Baule's nascent career has already seen him feature on Dutch behemoth, Click Records with the four-track "Phosphenes" hitting the label in late 2018. With further original music on LW Recordings and Mind Field Recordings, it is a pleasure to welcome Baule to Particles with a debut remix. Characterised by a tasty groove and reverb-laden percussion section. Partenaire's bassline is stripped back to a note on the bar to provide the foundation for a rich melodic tapestry to reveal itself as the track progresses. Cleverly taking key elements from the original, Paul Baule has taken "Ex-Machina" and created a stunning interpretation full of craft, skill and mature production technique.

Fans of Proton Music and Particles will remember the name of George Gomes for his work under the GRG production moniker. A Brazilian artist of sizeable talent, the GRG name has been writ large across some of the finest modern imprints including Vapour Recordings, Stripped Digital and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Making his debut in 2009, some fifty production credits have been scattered across a nine-year career that has seen the Brazilian hit the heights on numerous occasions. Making his debut for Particles remixing Tim Penner's beautiful "Lost Again" in September 2017, GRG returns to the label with an outstanding remix of "Endangered". Redolent in angular, chunky rhythm and rapid-fire hi-hat percussion, the central melodic theme from Partenaire's original makes its presence felt in shimmering fashion, accompanied by a dramatic, gleaming arpeggio sequence that showcases GRG's talent. Hitting its stride post-breakdown with arpeggio and bass in full effect, the result is powerful and impressive.
