Jelle Jansen has created something truly unique through it’s Huminal soubriquet. With an ability to transform listeners into another world with his aural artwork – mixing organic, analogue sounds and crisp rhythmic forms on a vivid sonic palette – he consistently produces dynamic and inspiring works that have lit up electronic music. 

His techno, progressive house and electronica heritage is reflected in the distinctive melodies that infuse his work with trademark elegance and air. Influenced by cinematic film scores entwined with a signature sound design, Huminal takes listeners on a voyage of discovery through rich and vivid soundscapes.

Hailing from the Spanish mainland is a sound that’s resonating globally thanks to a choice select of tastemakers that are driving through the boundaries set out by their mediums. A notable character from that sub-culture of game-changers is Marc Martinez Nadal, aka AFFKT (@affkt), who has been a driving force behind a colourful & empowering sound that is refined by his drive for perfection. Having worked on coining the sound of this alias since 2008, it has been a plethora of sound, place, person & culture that has provided a platform for AFFKT to experiment with his output. Serving electronica crossover masterpieces that delve into the many sub-genre’s of house music via key imprints such as Suara, and his very own Sincopat label, and expressing versatility digging deep into his influences of the local by delivering heart-stopping, engaging techno on the likes of Kling Klong & Noir Music, AFFKT has committed to a life of synthesis and this is what sets himself apart from a comparatively shallow glance at dance music. Once described as a “Son Of A Thousand Sounds”, AFFKT has evolved to a career peak where he has surpassed expectation and enjoyed praise from his peers. Cutting through the ranks, his path has retained an essence of so many that have influenced him, he now sits shoulder to shoulder in skill & presence.

Since 2013, experimental Italian producer Carlo Whale has been making waves, developing and  honing his craft in his hometown of Cagliari. Inspired by his surroundings he has worked to present an  emotive, distinctive and unique sound by pursuing boundaries between music, technology and nature.  He has deepened his connection with synthetic sounds with a degree in Electronic Music at Cagliari  Conservatory under various influences that range from Erik Satie to Nils Frahm and David August. 

Carlo Whale’s organic approach to music finds his emotions reflected in the nature around him and  with this mindset, he aims at turning those emotions of a moment into music through a unique and  mature production technique. With no signs of slowing down, Carlo has found a handful of quality  releases landing on labels such as Oddity, Atlant, Einmusika, Steyoyoke, Poesie Musik and Manual, and has established himself as one of the most exciting breaking-through artists of 2021.

All smiles and goosebumps when I look back at my debut at Thuishaven for Melody Garden. It was amazing to see everyone dancing indoors at the famous ‘loods’, even while the sun was shining bright outside.
