"Joe Miller is an English-born beatmonger, influenced in equal measure by heaving clubs and the earthy melancholy of forests. He grew up in Australia, where he learned to craft sets that are whimsical and left-field, evoking a sense of place.

Joe has released music on All Day I Dream and Bedrock (with Jamie Stevens), Dream Culture, Hoomidaas, Magician on Duty, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Sag & Tre and Traum Schallplatten. His tracks have been supported by Sasha, Guy J, Nick Warren, Mira and Atish.

As well as playing headline sets in Miami, New York, Saigon and Tokyo, Joe has crafted studio mixes for the Balance Series, Flow Sessions, DJ Mag and Deeper Sounds (streaming on British Airways and Emirates flights). He attended Burning Man for the first time in August 2022, playing Never Sleep Again, the Lucy S Cargo and Golden Gate art cars and a dust-storm back-to-back with Double Touch, Christian Voldstad, Hauy and Jon Charnis."

Aslan Venom peeked into abandoned buildings, set up promising lineups and ran away from the authorities. He proved to be a true rave warrior who fought for our right to party freely! With some notorious crews, he succeeded in reviving the atmosphere of the 90s in Berlin's underground. 

With a view to the future, he founded the Vector collective and took a step towards legality by organizing festivals and parties in off-locations.

2020 has come to an end and so is our Podcast Series. Closing the list, we have a true electronic music pioneer in our home town, Steve PD. As an original member of the Pastilla Digital crew, Steve built his reputation as a top-notch DJ by putting together great opening and closing sets, and this time was no exception. Sanetran is Nadia Sanetra, a Johannesburg-based DJ inspired by otherness and what the future, of especially Africa, sounds like. Influenced by artists throughout dancefloor history who have championed independence, openness and community, Sanetran is interested in expanding boundaries that exist (real and imagined) and inviting and welcoming people who want to share their energy. Nadia is also part of Not Sorry Club, a femme-centric collective aimed at building a more inclusive rave community.

Not Sorry club - Uzuri Soundcloud Take Over Day 3 With Sanetran

There are two sides to Cairo-based DJ and producer Hassan Abou Alam's sonic output. While one focuses on the ambient and atmospheric, the other is a form of organised chaos, that matches both synthetic and analogue sound.

These creations have landed on several labels over the last few years including Cologne's Traum Schallplatten, Audiolith and Morocco's Casa Voyager, as well as a very well received debut on Violet's naivety imprint, a sub-label of naive. Local label Rakete was another space for him this year, with him contributing a track to their Quest compilation, before making a return earlier this month for his first solo EP on the imprint, the aptly named Hope Amid Despair.

Following the release, we handed over the reigns to him for this week's Shine A Light On mix, which moves through the spaces between house, breaks, grime and bass. Get yourself acquainted...
