When I Was 12 is an indie pop band with members from Philadelphia, PA and New Jersey. Two of their members, Adrianne Gold and Carolyn Haynes, are sophomores in Drexel University's music industry program. They write sugary pop melodies surrounding charming love lyrics.

When I Was 12 are Adrianne Gold, Daniel Houwen, Carolyn Haynes, Ryan Heupler and other beautiful revolving members who like to write silly love songs and want to feel alive.

They are from Philadelphia, PA and make music centered around young romance, female harmonies, acoustic strumming, and simple accompaniments. They have released two albums thus far: a six-track EP, This Is Before Camille Took All AP Courses, and the full-length, Dear Eskimo, recorded at Cambridge Studios in Newton, PA and released in January 2009. Their self-titled 7” is coming out in April 2011.
