Hazel
The Druids used Hazel for fertility charms, its branches are used for dowsing and the nuts can be chewed prior to divination. It is said to be the quintessential Celtic tree because of its legendary position at the heart of the Otherworld. Here, nine magic hazel-trees hang over the Well of Wisdom and drop their nuts into the water causing bubbles of ‘mystic inspiration’ to form the surface of the streams that flow from the well. For this reason it is call the Tree of Wisdom. Along with apple and hawthorn it is often found between the worlds where magical things happen and is widely used for protection against evil. So with friends near our quest for a hazel wand was made without fear. Searching from honeysuckle vines where tree creepers play to a circle of hazel and oak where it lay. With it we bound prayers for love and peace as energies of pain and grief came upon us as a leach. Cast these into the still dark water deep we did and now the wand lies in a garden dear radiating peace upon all those who come near.

Link this land again with your roots above and below, seen and unseen which flow on never ending be one as we were one descended from you, trunk from trunk.
