Where Are You From is a brand new podcast by PYT Fairfield that will be launching in just a couple of weeks. However we are currently presenting our acclaimed work, TRIBUNAL at the 2018 Sydney Festival and so we are bringing you a very special episode recorded backstage.

Liz Ann MacGregor runs one of Australia’s largest contemporary art galleries, the MCA. But as a young girl growing up in the Orkney Islands of Scotland she was discouraged from ‘wasting a good brain’ studying the arts. This week on WAYF we sit down with her to discuss how where she has come from informs the work she does as a passionate advocate for the arts right across greater Sydney.

Bilal is a performer and poet who came up through the Bankstown Poetry Slam, one of Australia’s most incredible youth led arts movements and the largest poetry slam in the country. Trained as a high school teacher, Bilal now works at the Sydney Story Factory running programs in high schools across the city teaching how creativity and storytelling can be a powerful outlet for expression and change making. Bilal has worked with PYT Fairfield since 2016 and this week on WAYF we sit down to ask how growing up in Bankstown from a Lebanese family have shaped who he has become.
