A1. Raw M.T. - You Can Still Dance

For their ninth iteration, Hamburg's The Press Group punches back in with the sizzling hot debut to a VA series bound to scout and shed a broader light on exciting artists from various territories and backgrounds.

Pulsating to the bone, "Future Prospects vol.1" showcases a quartet of heaters courtesy of Germany-based Robert Dietz and Aii PS on the A-side and Kyiv-based Vlad Stuparenko & Ghetto Sunrise plus Sasha Zlykh on the flip. Either sides of the disc inbound for optimal and non-pareil impact on the dance floor.

Dietz's "Salbung" paves the way old-school style, grinding everything from lethal breaks to rowdy drums, via lysergic synth flights straight out a wild sci-fi scenario.
Aii PS' bouncy and oneiric contribution "Donteven" is more of a low-slung affair with its mischievous fusion of filtered synths and acid-informed bass spurts painting the sky all shades of radioactive green.

Flip it over and Stuparenko/Ghetto Sunrise's stealth, aqueous weapon "Pine Water" ushers us in a corridor of groove-enslaved echolocation, delayed stabs and propulsive bleepin' n bloopin' from the depths.

A further dusty, shuffling affair blazing with clanky hats on a Chicagoan tip and futuristic electroid inflections, Zlykh's "Pidozepam" tops it all off in implacable fashion, casting a spell of exquisitely thrilling menace upon the ravers.

Cosmoba is a brand new Manchester based imprint from Kalcagni. Fresh from releasing his ‘Manners’ EP on Distrito 91, Kalcagni dishes up 4 slices of funk fuelled electro for this label debut.
 Lead track ‘Lost In The System’ features retro stylings and gritty electro bass hooks. This is swiftly followed up by ‘Multislacking’, the result of a weekend spent twisting up a modular rig, with wonky bass squelches and 80s pads underpinned by slamming beats.  On the flip side, ‘Culture Vulture’ introduces some heavy 303 workouts, before 'After The Fact’ rounds off the EP nicely, taking the acid vibe in a slightly darker direction with wonky reese synth fills and jacked up breaks.

oneeyedman is the project by the Hungarian-based artist István Sándor, seeing with one eye the release “Eat Alone a Miso Soup” that is landing on the musical hub Sakskøbing. The record has been over a year in the making and has gathered the shape using the all-seeing eye we witness today. 

Four track EP starting with the first Samurai discipline imbued track using voice part from Masaki Kobayashi’s 1962 movie “Harakiri”. Explicit qualities of an anthem there which makes you want to whip out a katana and graciously waft it in the air. Following piece “Night Train Ride” will be perfect not just for the trains, but starting on foot and going as far as taking the space shuttle with its cumulative acidic qualities. The Sixth Life story has morphed its shape into the DJ friendly version it is today, that says it next to the tin with more drums than ever before and portraying a human multi life story with its picturesque patterns & elaborate frequencies. Closing up this chapter with the intricately vivid number “Moody Discoteq” which shiatsu’s the membranes of one’s big red-pinkish brain in a calm manner and concluding the story of this body of work. 

All tracks were produced by István and mixed by the man himself and Gregus Grema Márton using the ancient Japanese techniques, which cannot be taught but rather has to be unlocked with practice, clear spirit and of course major levels of discipline.
