WHIPPY x SmokeySwan - Bait Boyz

The idea for this album (playlist) started on the 8th of October 2021. I had just dropped 'Dragon' and the instant growth and increase in attention it began to receive was both surprising, but expected. I had a lot of faith in myself musically when it came to creating alternative genres. I just fell in love with the idea of continuing the same style, but on a variety of different tracks. As always, I didn't want every song to sound the same and I was determined to create a wide variety, meaning every song was completely different yet would still work in the same project if placed together. Numerous delays, changes and cancellations occurred during the entire process and I was beginning to lose hope altogether. Eventually, a year later (July 2022)...I finally decided to put all my worries and anxieties aside and continue to build on the idea. I have made the correct moves, switches, changes and edits, while still keeping the raw, original sounds I had on each individual track when I first started. I hope this project is enjoyed and understood from my emotional perspective.

Have some grunge. This one is a bit "IN YOUR FACE" just as it should be. Around the time I released this, I had been listening to a lot of Nirvana and bands alike. I believe that's where I got my inspiration.

After the first track, I knew I had to hop on more grunge beats and this one, although softer was the one I was feeling I should record on for song number 2 on the album.

This was a song basically directed toward the younger version of myself among other things but the track speaks for itself with the lyrics I have written.

Around the time I wrote this, I was listening to a lot of 'The Pixies and 'Placebo' which lead to the major vocal influence. I felt inspired by their particular sound, especially The Pixies. Both the cover art and the lyrics speak to me and hopefully everyone else in a way that explains what putting on a fake smile can really mean.

This song speaks for itself in more ways than one. You can only run from yourself for so long before you come to realise the part of you that came to meet its demise. Nothing lasts forever. I was told by my uncle...The amazing artist that created all of these covers for the album, that this reminded him of Rob Zombie. I was shocked to hear it, but pleasantly surprised.

Buransuu and I decided it was time for our first track together. I think I may have done Deep House with SmokeySwan previously, but I'm new to this genre and I liked the vibe. I never stay in one place musically and neither does the whole of both (𝟛𝟞𝟞) or 20FOUR. Both collectives have now partnered up and created one massive group of various amazing artists.
