Plus qu’un genre musical, l’hyperpop est appréhendée comme un phénomène total, pénétrant l’ensemble des champs artistiques et culturels. En grossissant les traits de nos modes de vie décadents et saturés d’informations, sa posture ""hyper"" en souligne les dissonances. Au-delà de la simple ironie, le cringe postule la bizarrerie comme forme de sincérité face à des modes de vie raisonnés perçus comme restrictifs et infondés."
