Future Husbands Past Lives

I'm always fascinated by other modes of creative expression.  Cooking, filmmaking, dance, theater, poetry…  They all play a huge role in my search for inspiration and muse.  I was recently approached by Craig Thornton, chef and creator of cult status underground supper club called "Wolvesmouth", to create two pieces of original score for an installation he was putting together with artist Matt Bone called "Cut Your Teeth".  I know it's hard to kind of wrap your  brain around, but imagine having a nine course mind blowing tasting menu in a full on immersive physical art space:  Paintings by Bone, taxidermy, forest theater set, curated playlists, live music and finally score by yours truly all serve to invite you into the Wolvesmouth universe. Craig's aim is to give you something new to experience with food, give you a new story to tell, challenge your idea of fourth wall in the dining experience and most of all, give you a good time.  After all, it's supposed to be fun!  

It is very rare that I've experienced food like Craig's and it is even more rare as a musician to feel like the collaborative experience is from top to bottom fulfilling and rewarding.  Though it's not much music, it was still pretty amazing to know it was being used (and perfectly if i may say so!) in this multi-dimensional art space.  We may not have reinvented the wheel, but the wheel sure looked, sounded and tasted damn good.  

I hope you all get to experience his food, and in the meantime, enjoy this little score piece I did.  I'm very proud.

Dear friends -

While I enjoyed making my first album, I find myself creating in a new way these days.  Writing with so many artists last year, scoring Bang Gang and generally being able to create mix and master my solo material within days, has given me a direct freedom to share I have always secretly wanted. In short, this year, if I write something that I like, I’m putting it out!  No Eps, no albums… just songs from me to you that I want you to hear.

So I want to invite you to join me on this adventure.  Along with a steady stream of songs there will be video content for each, and as a compliment to the audio / visual, I've conjured up a new interactive project I have called “Postcards From Nowhere” (http://whiteseamusic.com/postcardsfromnowhere) - a concept I’ve played with for some time now, but am finally able to execute: a living breathing art project, where we can go beyond the traditional offerings, to a place where I can create and share objects that come straight from the WS headquarters.  Postcards, demos, polaroids, correspondence… the only limit is our own imaginations.
