Lorde - Buzzcut Season (White&Berg's Breaking Hearts & Healing Parts Edit)

For my DJ set I took a go at the beautiful vocal mix by DJ Fortee of Bongeziwe Mabandla's track Isizathu! 

The DJ Fortee mix of the track lifts me to such a high place! I really love the African hopeful vibe. But I could not find a way to play it in my DJ sets. So I decided to combine it with an (unfinished) concept track of mine called “My House".

Its a serendipity that “Isizathu” means “Purpose”. Guess we all had ran into finding answers to our purpose question at some point. This Covid-19 lockdown brought my (2nd) DJ career to a stop, so i’ve put my focus on finding inspiration in music and it so happened to be i found my way back into my old love for soul, funk and house. Stepped up my production skills. Got solid advise from Dj Roog, “produce the type of tracks that you would play in your Dj sets!” Ferrer told us to “never believe your own hype!”.

Sort of got hooked during quarantine on the sound of Defected, Dunmore, Sam Divine’s radioshow, KTGeorge her Soundcloud mixtapes, the virtual festivals and all the great house heroes that fit in that amazing culture story they are telling through their music. I want to be part of it! I want to better myself as a producer! I want to keep pushing! I want to get lost in four by fours.. i want to go back to the basement, hi-hat, snaredrums, bassline, basskicks!

Music is love! And i lost my heart to house music! ❤️
