Everyone is an observer at some point in time. Everybody is watching, observing, researching something in own life.

Whether it is the old Hindu looking forward to the time when his body will be carried in a shroud to the last journey to the Ganges by the scent of flowers and then he has been liberated from the cycle of samsara, or when the cataphract is finally done with its struggle and freed from its armour somewhere in the midst of the steppes of Eurasia.

Whether it is the blind man who enters his inner garden of silence and explores there the images that none of the rest of us can see.

Whether it is the viewer who floats in a difficult to grasp triptych.

What is "there" behind that observation? Something modest, or something that changes our lives?

After more than two years Martin Kuška returns with his project Goodbye Mirage with a new EP "Turning Point Observer". A hypnotic dreamy-progressive five track and five remixes EP, in whose tracks you can constantly search for something new - the endless faith or doubt, the loneliness of days or the shining energy of social moments yet to come, body to body.

When you hear it on the dance floor, you can dance and smile, or dance and feel deep sentiment. It's up to you. The possibilities are endless as the vast ocean - let yourself go and become an observer of... who knows... perhaps a turning point in your life.

The Power Of Song w/ Sahra: Black Folk Music - May 2023

Andy Cartwright is an artist originally from Oxfordshire, UK who currently resides in the French Alps. Alongside his other projects Seabuckthorn and Mt Went, Andy’s work has been released through labels including Bookmaker Records, Lost Tribe Sound, Eilean, IIKKI, Fluid Audio, A Quiet Room Recording and, LAAPS. Andy’s taste in music flits between guitar-based bands and electronica; these sources of inspiration led to him creating electronic music under his own name since 2021 alongside the more acoustic-leaning work.

In this album, Andy departed from the more traditional song-writing style, in which he would normally play riffs and chords on a guitar before developing the composition. Instead, he headed straight for the computer. ‘Below the Noise’ is a series of microsound collages, built upon layered field recordings, synth drones and noises. Field recordings were captured on his phone, loaded into Ableton and then processed with lo-fi effects. Additional synth sounds were added and side-chained to a heavy noise track, which was muted. This reduced the track down almost into a microsound, which left lots of air and ghost fragments in the mix.

Andy was intrigued by the idea of filtering out all the harsh noise, as a mix technique to thin out the sounds. From here, the process led to the album’s name and overall concept. Traces of the original sound source can only be imagined, as it sits below the noise. The reduction method leaves us with this collection of dusty ambient drones, imbued with satisfying static and crackly ASMR textures.

The album represents that everything outside of ourselves has a distinctive formation: from the wondrously colorful and maximally varied light waves of the Aurora Borealis to the singularly blue-hued limpid depth of Crater Lake, inside the caldera of Mount Mazama, the deepest lake in America. This deeply personal observation led my musical intuition to create the ten diverse songs in Formations.

Composed with shortwave, long wave and UHF and VLF field recordings in Burdujeni Sat, near Suceava, Romania during artistic residency at Zidul de Hartie. Special shout out to Dan Prodan, for the ancestral house and the apples. This excerpt is drawn from an iteration of the composition concept realized on the cusp of the Harvest Moon of 2025 in Poznan with additional spontaneous spectral audio and synthesizer which amounts to one full 69 minute piece which will be released by Akashic Records on Bandcamp some time next week after it is divided into smaller tracks. Enjoy the warp of our planet's space time continuum in the fun-house mirror of the ionosphere as bounced back through radio waves.

Whitelabrecs was set up by Harry Towell in late 2015 as another outlet to put out experimental electronic/acoustic music. It followed Harry’s previous labels Audio Gourmet, Tessellate and Warehouse Decay and focuses on a collectable series of highly limited edition vinyl-effect CDr packaging, with the first 50 releases influenced by white label vinyl records. The label also runs a digital only series called eRecords, with each of these releases including a special PDF booklet.
