According to George Orwell's dystopian classic 1984, Doublethink is "the acceptance of contrary opinions or beliefs at the same time". I took this and applied it to the issues surrounding modern conflict. Certain political leaders, as well as many others, believe that to achieve peace, one must create war; a contradictory belief indeed.
