The French producer Jack Essek displays in his brand new release, four splendid original tracks: ‘Mahogany’, ‘Allahu Allah’, ‘Hindustan’, and ‘Esengo’, which are accompanied by four brilliant remixes. Jack Essek’s original tracks manage to take the listeners into a deep colourful psychedelic journey that crosses the vast middle eastern lands and reaches the most mystical parts of India. An extremely diverse exhibition of ancient traditions blended with an exquisite palette of powerful futuristic electronic sounds and psychedelic rhythms, enveloped by delicious bass lines and hypnotizing vocals. Prepare yourselves to get drifted into a magical adventure full of light & darkness, pleasurable melancholia & heart-warming sounds, drama, romance and much more. On remix duty, we have the pleasure to have Seel and Alt Control back on our label and to welcome to the Camel Riders family the Madrid-based producer and the London-based producer, Nebu Mitte and Commoner. 1st we are serving you Seel’s glorious darkish remix for the EP theme track ‘Mahogany’, which transformed the original’s groovy nomadic atmosphere into a dramatic and psychedelic tale. 2nd we have Alt Control with his brilliant clubby interpretation for ‘Allahu Allah’, which crafted an exquisite fusion of progressive techno and Indie Dance sounds, giving the original’s rootful psychedelic vibe, a more colourful and powerful atmosphere. Coming up next, we have Nebu Mitte’s eclectic remix for ‘Hindustan’, converting the original’s rounded groovy vibe into a spiky and very mysterious adventure full of mighty exquisite electronic sounds. Last but not least we are serving you Commoners enchanting remix for ‘Esengo’, which takes the original’s deep obscure and psychedelic melodies into a sunny and very colourful island of exotic rhythms with pleasurable percussions, dreamy melodies & vocal fragments, all caressed with refreshing windy electronic sounds.

Raik feat. Henri "Hold Me E.P." (Golden City Sounds 002)

The double A-side EP, Hold Me, is Golden City Boy Raik's debut release. Raik founded the Hamburg-based label, Golden City Sounds, with German house legends Boris Dlugosch and Isi Tüfekci (otherwise known as one half of Digitalism) in March 2013. Hold Me is the label's third release, following Dlugosch's Look Around You single, featuring Roísín Murphy (Moloko), and Polargeist + Kruse + Nuernberg's Good Times, a deep house, feel-good anthem of the summer.

For the first track, Hold Me, Raik teamed up with Henri aka Henrietta Tiefenthaler, producer, DJ and also singer in the psychedelic Krautrock band Thrillionaire. With her romantic, dystopian lyrics, Henri's hypnotic vocal delivery gives an emotional depth to this slice of shimmery, pop-electronica.

The second track, La Musique, is a euphoric club tune, a perfect counterbalance to the more rhapsodic melancholia of Hold Me. With its hooky synth line, infectious groove, and sexy French spoken word vocal, its arrangement is flawless and guaranteed to suck you into its retro-futuristic world.

This long-awaited EP will be sure to deliver on the expectation.

Pete continues exploring the sound and giving emotion to his music today in form of three new tracks full of soul and heart. Trying Not To is a tight huge track that will burn the most demanding places. Master Gabriel Ananda presents an exquisite version rich in details and getting a fantastic balance between deep and tech. We knew he is a quality stamp. 

Graphium follows the futuristic and tasteful line of Electronic Music. Sinister and dark voices for a devastating effect on the dancefloor. Me My Molly shows Pete’s more elegant stuff. He goes a bit deeper with sensual melodies but for sure also a great pick of the night. But, as Pete says, let the music speak by itself.

The Venice artist is fresh from a remix appearance on Toronto imprint My Favorite Robot and a feature on Connaisseur Recordings' highly regarded 10th anniversary release. 2016 is clearly set to be a massive year for the melodic master.

Alex Dimou makes a welcome debut on Crosstown Rebels with What Keeps You There with two great remixes from Cevin Fisher and Avidus.

The EP begins with the enchanting nature of What Keeps You There. A prominent piano roll opens proceedings, with Vili’s moving vocals soon introduced over a chugging bassline. Cevin Fisher’s remix of the title track comes next. A more driving minimal house take on the lead record, subtle kicks converge on rustling percussion, before Vili’s emotive vocals once again form a poignantly heartfelt production. Avidus provide a dance floor-ready rework of the original, that features a mechanical sounding synth and an echoing, electric breakdown, before the EP is rounded off with Let It Be Known, a four-to-the-floor, pumping house cut made up of strong kicks and driving pads.

Alex Dimou is a producer, DJ and remixer whose career has seen him perform all around the global circuit. As a remixer, he has collaborated with the likes of Maya Jane Coles and M.A.N.D.Y, whilst his own releases have found a home on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax as well as renowned Berlin imprint Get Physical Music. Legendary American producer Cevin Fisher has been releasing standout records since 1995, achieving five entries in the UK singles chart between 1998 and 2001. German duo Avidus are regulars on Crosstown Rebels, and continue to run their own imprint Empore Music, which was launched in 2015.

Cologne’s Tim Engelhardt delivers his debut EP for Watergate.

We got our first taste of Tim Engelhardt’s prodigious talent when ‘Under Armour’ featured on WhoMadeWho’s acclaimed Watergate 26 compilation earlier this year. The track was a masterstroke of tension-filled chords and crisp drums that put him squarely on the radar of the WG faithful. 

His first EP for the label ‘Rhy’, captures the essence of Watergate’s famous Waterfloor at dawn. The title track is drenched in sheaths of warm melodies, as velvety vocal undertones and sweeping strings welcome the morning light. ‘When The Sun Illuminated Her Eyes’, is the more driving accompaniment, as textured synths and delicate keys shine a light on Engelhardt’s accomplished skill as a pianist.
