Another quality guest mix this month. This time from Bristols own Lee [@leeboiacid]

Lee’s music is always something that has caught my ear with his eclectic acid licked sound bound together by his signature touch. It’s clear that he is grabbing from a deep source of inspiration so asked him to pull together a mix to delve a bit deeper into where it all came from. So glad I did as this mix is definitely a keeper.

In Lee’s words  "It's mostly a collection of fav tracks and influences and one or two of my things or remixes of my tracks."

Angel Simitchiev & Linus Schrab “Airborne”

“Airborne” is a collaborative album from Angel Simitchiev (Mytrip, Dayin), also the first one released under his real name, and Linus Schrab (V I C I M, Thet Liturggiske Owäsendet, Purlieu Recordings). 
Throughout its seven tracks we observe two individual creative visions organically merging to shape a sound of its own. “Airborne” was recorded in May 2019 during an intense creative weekend in Sofia, Bulgaria. 

The album showcases different facets of Simitchiev and Schrabʼs rich musical palettes. From the ritualistic melancholia of opener ‘Initiationʼ, the industrial intensity of ‘A Smoke That Will Never Clearʼ, to the anemoia-inducing ghostly melodies of the self-titled piece and the dystopian, yet forlorn soundscapes of the albumʼs longest piece ‘Spores of Humanityʼ, “Airborne” is a work that combines ambient delicacy with the intensity of noise and post-industrial soundscapes.

Did something a little different this month and put together a showcase of new V/A series put out by @mindcolormusic sub-label Mental Concept. 

Being such a limited run I thought it a good chance to let everyone check out some of the tracks. 

The records themselves each come in there own unique form being made from recycled vinyl and only available “Bandcamp Fridays” where all money goes to the label to keep the project going. Much more to come too so keep your eyes peeled for new bits from both arms of the label. Next drop is 5th March via bandcamp. Shout out to Dom for pulling all this together!
