She is a game changer. Wielding her ink pen and her instrument, her voice and her soul – Ashley is stepping out. Writing, rapping, singing, playing instruments, and performing from the age of 8, her maturity is evidenced by her skill. She was a "Posse Member" on BET's Teen Summit in her early years and in 2001, she and her brother (Tu Yella) performed on The National Mall to become the grand prize winners of The Coca-Cola National True Talent Search. Spending countless hours in major recording studios, her adolescent years were dedicated to music... and basketball, which would take her on a coast-to coast journey through college. After years as a student athlete... first at Johnson C. Smith (Charlotte, NC), then at Taft College where she got her AA (Taft, CA), and finally her BA in Communication at Hawaii Pacific University (Honolulu, HI)... she had more time and space in her life for her love affair with the stage. While still living in Honolulu, HI she returned to performing, this time with a new music partner (Zen Chambers) and band (Dirty Genes). Never more aware of her musical purpose, Ashley is getting set to release mix tapes, an EP and an album.
