Biography

Born in the city that never sleeps, New York City, Terrance Phipps, commonly known by the stage name, ‘Chu!o’, is a notable rising lyricist and Hip-Hop artist. Raised in a single parent home, Chu!o’s passion for music is accredited to his mother’s very same love for music. At the young age of thirteen, Chu!o began to showcase his musical talent by reading sheet music. As a multi-talented musician playing the trumpet for seven years, Chu!o’s musical influences range from Michael Jackson to Kanye West.

Chu!o’s talent as a rapper really took notice after his move to Raleigh, NC. During his years in high school Chu!o's freshman mixtape created a local buzz in the Raleigh-Durham area. Following his graduation from North Carolina Central University, Chu!o began to work full time and perfect his craft as a lyricist and Hip-Hop artist.

Currently working on his third mixtape installment, Chulo’s ambition is to deliver to the world the essence of Hip-Hop through his lyrics. His music exemplifies a southern taste with northern roots and is destined to take the world by storm.
