Negative Space: The Overpainting

I would consider "Can’t Afford To Care" to be the epilogue to everything I’ve released while at Wesleyan. I hate that my parents were right in saying these four years go by SO fast, and as I prepare to end my last one, I want this project to be a reminder that everything's not that deep. At the end of the day, we’re (mostly) all broke college students who have no idea what our lives in the real world are gonna look like. All the little social dynamics and drama are cute but for the most part, a lot of us are never gonna see each other again. So I wanted to do a complete shift from the emotional nature of "Negative Space” and make fun, mindless, semi-hedonistic party music that we can just throw our bodies around to and try our best to enjoy these last few months, as well as some more chill sounds that you can still move to.

"Can’t Afford To Care" lies somewhere within the spectrum of mixtape versus album. It’s not quite a random compilation of music because I did put some thought behind its creation, but simultaneously I turned my brain off so much while writing it so a lot of the lyrics are just word vomit. Regardless, it’s a fire body of work and I hope you enjoy!
