This track came to my via a contest with another artist. It didn't go as planned and the song was never released. This is how the verse should have been presented and I added Mic Allen on to show some love to my people. Cause we ain't lazy!

LAZY PEOPLE

I wrote to the rhythm of the beat on this one. I tried to stay in the elected pockets while creating my own flow. This was also recorded by young me hence the Doc reference but I was with the shits back then.

ASYLUM MUZIK

One of my earliest themed tracks. My bro Luna dropped this on me and I instantly started penning. It started out going to be a joint with me and Luna but when he came back and heard what I did, as I crafted both verses cuz I couldn't stop writing, he was like, "its yours Ock"

I never got around to getting the remix done but I might just get to that soon...

ROCKSTAR STATUS

This one is in my personal top 10 of videos I wanna shoot but the vision is so huge, I havent put forth the energy to pull it off. Like I can do a few off brand (from my vision) types but I know I wont be happy with the outcome. ONE DAY, I WILL SEE MY VISION ON SCREEN!

This track was born from me just messing around. The producer sent me a few and I heard the sax on this and said ugh! I gotta do something to this. The hook came to me quickly and with some direction while recording, I layered nicely. The beat was this short but I've never really wanted to expand this one...at least not back then

HOT FIRE

This one was created in my "outside" days! My boi Kels pulled up and was like I got a song I wanna do so we locked in at the house where I had the room converted to a studio and we found the beat digging through all my files, wrote, then recorded it! The first surface was on a mixtape titled Fudda Hellud where I dropped a lot of joint I had just sitting on the hard drives. The cover art for that tape was crazy lol

SHE BAD

When I first heard this beat, I immediately put it in my "Write to this" folder because I felt the vibe within the first 15 seconds. When I circled back to it, I penned the verse fairly fast and initially I wanted to shop it around to the people I was working with at the time but a feature didnt feel right. I sat on the track for a while then added it as an extra on a mixtape over a decade ago. Now I give it, its proper respect and shine! Also, I'm still on top of the world!

ON TOP OF THE WORLD

Wrote this at the start of my Slugfest journey! It actually became part of a super song that was almost 10 minutes long! I remember when they initially sent me the beat and I asked, "What we doin". My bro said "Do whatever you wanna do" I said "Bet"

When I sent it back to him he called me a mad man lol

When I started writing to it, the words just kept coming out and I couldn't stop. At that point we decided to send it to the rest of the team and tell them to do whatever they felt. We released the entire song as a whole and performed it whenever at least 4 of us were at a show together.

The reason you hear me come in with the Mentida Bitches! is because I am 2nd or 3rd and that's the line the person before me used so I adlibbed it at the start of my verse

RELOADED

I was working with DJ Chew, whom I met while performing at a Hot Import Nights Car Show. We have been working ever since. He stumbled across this guys from overseas and they have some fire beats! When he sent me this one, I knew I had to go in! This song, also recorded in my 20's, is one of my favorites. I didn't push it as hard as I should have because 1. I didn't know the game that well back then and 2. I was real afraid of samples lol. Those 2 things no longer hold me back!

HIT THA BLOCK

I wrote this one while I was entertaining my first rap beef! I had been waiting for ages for someone to come my way and man when that happened, my music shifted into overdrive. I actually wrote an entire diss mixtape while on a trip to NH for court about my son. I think I had over 25 tracks that spawned from this beef lol

It was also the most fun I've had musically! I have since vaulted most of those but some spilled into other tracks like this.

GET RIGHT

I recorded this track as I was transitioning from Gaffney, SC back to Miami, FL. My brother Ksino came up to visit with and we stopped at one of the local studios. I remember this session vividly because it was my 2nd time using autotune but my first time attempting to carry a tune lol
They was clowning me for sounding country and shit lol but its what I heard in my head with the words and it took mad takes to get it out but it still sounds kinda country to me lol
Big shouts to Ksino for killing the hook though!

My Time

Octavious "O. Smith" Smith, born and raised in Miami, FL., dropped his first mixtape in 2007 titled "It's My Time" boasting 22 tracks featuring the heartfelt "Long Time Coming Remix". 
With the buzz from the promo O. Smith (then known as Doc Oct) performed at several National and local car shows including Boost Mobile Hot Import Nights and Elite Summer Nationals. 
Less than a year later O. Smith put together his 2nd mixtape "My Time Is Now" which came with a DVD with behind the scene footage of the car shows, music videos, and general foolery! The M.T.I.N. project has 28 tracks featuring the highly energetic "Speedracer feat. Ced J" "I'd Rather Remix feat. Billy Busthead" and part II of the "Spittin" trilogy. 
Almost 2 years went by before the next release entitled "The Leftovers" which came with a nearly 5 hour DVD!!!!! This mixtape showcased versatility and featured a wide range of artist from across the nation: K-Rupson (Canada), Fifty Deuce (NC) Tre-Dot (NC), Smoke (Texas). The single "Hit The Block" was produced by Cookin Soul from Spain!!!! The track was featured on Hiphopupdate.com, Rockthedub.com, and Tbohiphop.net and several independant DJ mixtapes! 
Over the next year O. Smith went in on 2 projects, "Fudda Hellud" & "Created A Monster", the 1st was a project aimed to unite the local music scene and generate buzz prior to releasing “Created A Monster”. "Fudda Hellud" featured 17 tracks including the very catchy "She Bad feat. Yung Kels" a variety of remixes and various local guest appearances. 
The Created A Monster Mixtape consist of 20 tracks of lyrical prowess. You can find the mixtape on Datpiff.com and other hip hop sites. All the videos can be found on O. Smith's YouTube page just google "WhoIsOSmith"! 
He departed from South Carolina and moved back to South Florida to team up with childhood friend and local rapper Ksino Da Don to form SlugFest Entertainment, an independent label, in which they manage other local artist careers from image to public relations & promo. 
After taking another hiatus from his own music to build the brand of SlugFestENT within the local community and in the music business. With annual events centered around the kids from his hometown neighborhood and shows throughout the South Florida area. 
In 2013 O. Smith released a Mixtape titled “The Cover Letter” said to be his last mixtape and the prequel to his album “The Resume”. “The Cover Letter” featured 16 tracks of recent remixes and an additional 6 unreleased tracks from his archives. Late into 2014 he is back pushing “The Cover Letter” getting ready to release “The Resume EP”. Scheduled for official release on 1-6-15. “The Resume EP” Will have 5 tracks all to be announced in due time…...
