Steve Ward Dj Set @ Carl Cox Revolution

A bit of history.... I was lucky enough to play several significant closing sets at the end of the "warehouse rave party" era in Melbourne. 
To do something special for these sunrise sets I rocked a list of oldskool techno classics, all of the tracks ranged from 1990 - 1998. 
Still to this day, these performances are at the top of my most favourite sets i've ever played.

It has been a long time since then and when i found out i was playing the sunrise set at Rainbow Serpent, I decided to smash out an updated version of those old sets i did years ago, however this time focusing on a specific list of tunes that are still really inspirational to me as an artist not to mention were also really big in the Melbourne scene.

I was treading a fine line with how oldskool i was going to go, so i didn't want to play too much stuff from the early 90's that the massive Rainbow d-floor may not be ready for, so i kept the set pretty party friendly and a nice mixture of tracks from the early 90's through to the 2000's. 

Please note, allot of these tunes were taken from vinyl so you will hear some vinyl noise and the audio quality isn't 100%

Rainbow Serpent Festival is easily my favourite festival in the world to perform at and I was very lucky to again be booked at killer time on saturday night.
I can't thank you enough to all of you who came on the journey with me from the warm evening at the beginning of my set through to the intense winds and rain at the end…. But the weather didn't stop you did it!
I will never forget seeing a full crowd from as far as the eye could see through that heavy rain! What a party!

Pretty exciting news, I'm working with www.musicdeforce.com to give away some of my tunes for free to help support various causes around the globe.
I've chosen to raise awareness of the USA based "Dark Act" which stands for "Deny Americans the Right to Know Act".
I believe that people have the right to know whether the food they consume contains genetically modified ingredients. This is a basic human right that corporations shouldn't be given the power to hide anything from the people, especially when it comes to info about our own food supply!
If this act is agreed upon in the USA, then it is just a matter of time before we will see the same kind of act issued in every country around the world.

Sooooo this is pretty big news!
3 years ago an unbelievable dream came true for me.... Two of my all time heroes Carl Cox & Nile Rodgers came to my studio in Melbourne and we ended up writing some seriously amazing music together.
One of the tunes featured Nile's first ever guitar solo and after all this time this track has been released and it hit my top 10 all ready!
